SHEEBANSAVAGE
Ok, I pulled off the side cover tonite and the impeller is in perfect shape, no issues what so ever,,,, if the water is getting in through a vent line, what can i do to stop this??? or how else could the water have gotten in there? Also my antifreeze level was at normal as well.. thx again
trail rider
if you still have the overflow bottle make sure that the line coming from the radiator goes to the bottom of the bottle and not the other way around running it straight back into the vent hoses, cause thats what the guy that had ours done

SHEEBANSAVAGE
Thats a good idea, I think I will reroute the hose first but if I do not have enough length, I will have to get a new piece..As far as I know, the kicker seal and sprocket seals are all good but I will double check. creamsickle
if its a small leak from the coolant system you might not even notice any missing. doesnt take much water to get in there and turn everything white. to elminate the possibility of water getting in through that tube just cap that shit off right at the case. but yeah definatly replace that impeller seal and bearing. cuase if that shit goes you looking at a not so fun rebuild and a new side case. I am not loosing any coolant, not even the slightest amount.. I checked the impeller and its looks just like new, nothing wrong with it at all, so I am going to reroute the drain line first and then maybe cap it. Thx for the reply. SHEEBANSAVAGE
So May long weekend came and after the first good hard ride, I ckecked my oil and its milky again!! errrrrrr!! I fixed my drain lines and my coolant hasn't dropped any at all, so my next guess is a seal somewhere. What are my possibilities? Kick starter and shifter? Are there anymore I should worry about? I understand that it takes the smallest amount of water/antifreeze in the oil to make it milky, but my radiator is not dropping at all or anything noticable at all. Is there a way that it could come from the overflow tank and then into the transmission? I have no oil leaks at all except for around my where my pipes attach to the cylinder. There is some minor blow out there but nothing serious. Is it possible that I am sucking in H20 there or not? This is starting to piss me off and I need a fix.. Besides the other posts saying change the impeller and gasket ( I am going to do this to rule it out)....Is there any other way for antifreeze to enter the oil? If its not antifreeze in the oil and its water, where should I look for that? I have no oil leaks that would lead me to a area except for where the pipe attaches to the cylinder. HELP!! swrbansheeboy
normaly there is a vent on the rear of the case under the rear motor mount. it should be connected to a t that is also connected to the vent tube from your clutch case with a tube connected to those that runs up under the gas tank to the top of the stearing stem and back down the frame. if the vents are connected right and un-obstructed then you should check your kick starter and shift shaft seals. change your oil then do some dry riding somwhere. if you havent went through any water and your new oil is still milky white( not half milky because you will still have residual milky oil in the case even after you change your oil) then i'd concentrate on water pump impeller seals and the 0-ring that's on the pass through tube between the clutch cover and case. if it were me i would pull the clutch cover and replace the impeller shaft seal, o-ring on the pass through and the kick starter shaft seal. it might cost you $50 but it will rule out %80 of the crap that would be the problem....also while it's apart i'd inspect the impeller shaft to make sure it's smooth and has no grooves in it. also make sure the impeller itself look's good as well as the crappy plastic drive gear. make sure the slots that the pin set in show no signs of stripping. SHEEBANSAVAGE
OK, I just looked at the vent lines and the one that goes into the water pump area was not attached to the T. It was just laying on my motor. Could I have sucked water in through there. Also where do all the vent lines come from. 1--water pump 2--Engine case breather Are there any more? dawarriorman
OK, change the water pump seal!!!!!!!!!!! Don't post back in here until you do. Then after you do, if you still notice water in the oil, let us know. You might not think you're losing anything, but as your machine cools, it will pull some coolant from the bottle back into the radiator if needed. Thats the way its designed (sometimes it won't though). That could be why your not noticing a difference in the coolant level. The o-ring they are referring is on the tube that sticks out when you take the side case off the engine. Its right by the water pump, you'll see it when you take the side case off.
