I thought it was loading up so i jetted the main down still did it, jetted down again got worse.... could this be in the needle or main?? I did a plug chop plugs are black. Rich right?? sheecandy
well if the rejetting dont help it could be the clutch
dajogejr
Doesn't sound like the reeds...especially since it runs fine in WOT in the lower gears... Do you have a picture of the plugs for the chop? Sounds like it's a tad rich on top... DId you check the obvious things, like fresh plugs, clean air filter, no loose or burned wires, etc? FOXBANSHEE30
ive done all i know how to do. i even changed the fuel filter still doin it. i know it sounds rich on top but i dropped down 2 sizes and it still does it. Anyway it was lean an i went the other way. I did a fresh chop and they looked real dry and white to yellowish. I know that means lean. im gonna go up one sixe from where i started and see if that helps. Check my needle. i broke mine once and it made it run weird as hell. The best way to jet is by the seat of your pants.....
dajogejr
I disagree...the best way to get close is by the seat of your pants...the best way to get it dialed is by the plugs... I guess I should backup... What size tires are you using? What is your gearing? What are ALL the mods you have? Sorry...I just reread your post....and TRIED to read your sig. That blue is very, very hard on the eyes. That is low end gearing...first of all. Second...that 2 into 1 may be holding you back some for top end. Does the bike REV but not get any faster...or, does it not want to rev at all? The first suggests gearing...the second...well, you may not be getting it enough fuel... Did this just Start happening? FOXBANSHEE30
mods and gearing are in my sig. 20" shots in the back 21" up front. Why?
dajogejr
because tire size and gearing has everything to do with how your bike pulls and revs...
wesw
first off what is your exact jetting pilots, needle and clip, mains gearing and other stuff should have much to do with it till your jetting is somewhat under control
FOXBANSHEE30
It does not rev at all when it cuts out, its like it dies. Acts like i just ran out of gas (lean?) i went to the 185 now its more boggin like its loadin up. main is 185, needle is 2nd notch DOWN, pilot is 48, screw 1.5 turns out. I think i might be fowling plugs like a mug. Bad ring maybe lettin oil into chamber and soakin the plugs?? just an idea i cleaned the air filter and the carb. I think ill put the 180 back in it and try a chop again with fresh plugs. Any ideas.
dajogejr
Yeah...a compression test...with a good quality tester... With a 2 into 1 carb setup...I'd say you are relatively close on your jetting... Possible electrical, too...are you trying a fresh set of plugs with each jetting change? wesw
i take it your runnign a pwk carb of some kind. what needle are you running. i would put it on the 4th clip and put your mains at 180 and see how it runs. those 2-1 things im not a fan of. 00tbanshee
this is just my .02, but is your float set right?, maybe its a little low and running out of gas
FOXBANSHEE30
how do u set the float? This is really pissin me off. Needle is fine i jet main and pilot both ways and it still does it. As soon as i get to about 3rd or 4th and pin it open all the way it dies, just like i ran out of gas. Could it be my air screw too much air not enough gas?? I need sum help. dajogejr
Your air screw has nothing to do with WOT throttle, period. It only takes effect from idle to about 1/8 throttle... Your needle and main account for that. Did you check the plug caps? Try this...next time you feel it gonna bog, pull the choke 1/2 way out. If it gets better...it's fuel. If it still does it...it's probably electrical. Have you tried new spark plugs. What gas/oil are you running, and at what ratio?
