raidersfan81
I have been to St. Anthony twice now and have not been able to get up Choke Cherry. I only have the shee piped (FMF Fatty's) and K&N with no lid. What do I need to do next to produce more power to get up the big dunes? Big Blue
More compression and Porting........
Wallrat
More compression and Porting........ What tires are you running? Before spending a bunch of money on mods, try dropping a tooth on the front sprocket or adding 3 teeth to the rear (will probably need a longer chain if adding teeth). Before I had the head on my bike shaved and the T-5's I couldn't get 1/2 way up that bastard. After the head shave, pipes, 2:1 filter and the +4 advance I could make it to the top, but I would be in 2nd gear if I was lucky. I've seen a Mazda rotary powered rail JUMP the top going up and coming back down. That guy was haulin balls.
watkins
I dont know the hill, but stock gearing will suck with your setup. Stick with wallrats recommendation and drop a tooth up front (so go with a 13 tooth sprocket). When I just had pipes & 13 tooth I could make it up anything. Bansh88
Is your jetting correct? St A's has a higher altitude doesn't it?
sandgrencivic2k1
My cousins banshee was only piped with T-5's, two twin air filters and some 8 paddle sand sharks. His gearing was 13/42 and he could buzz to the top in 3rd all day long
raidersfan81
I think there may be an issue with the jetting. I bought the shee this summer and the guy I bought it from had put 320 mains in it. Does this sound right for 3800ft? I get about 1/4 of the way up and have to shift to 2nd. Get about 3/4 up and have to turn around. When I was there conditions were kind of rough. No wind so the sand was rough as hell, and was impossible to get a run at it. kb01shee
I think that you might be a little rich. At 4000 ft i am running 330's and i am on the rich side. But i also have reeds and porting. I would try going down to 310's and see how it runs. Edited July 4, 2006 by kb01shee

raidersfan81
My sons banshee is running a 13t front and it does hit a lot faster, but it seems like you loose some speed with the gearing difference. Maybe its just the difference in our mods. Went to 270 mains and can already tell its running better. I'm getting ready to get a Noss head with 19cc domes. Im Going back to ST. Anthony in August and will find out if the changes will get me up choke. Anybody else going anytime soon? That place kicks ass. Don't spend a whole bunch of $$$ when you don't really need to for sure! Drop one tooth in the front Just do the front for now!!! It makes a big difference! If it's not enough, then go up in the rear too!
