I drilled a hole in each of those little tabs, and a corresponding hole in the middle flanges. One on each side. Then used a zip tie on each side to pull in the plastic with no bolt. I had the exact same problem, the bolt was just spinning and wouldn't come out. I ended up ripping the fucking thing out, along with the plastic that the nut sits in. In the process of ripping it out, I cracked the fender a bit where it mounts on and now there is also a hole that goes directly into the tank. So angry... I ended up buying a used tank on eBay, BansheeCJ3 happened to be the seller. If anyone can give me some pointers as to what I should do with the broken tank, that'd be great. fastbanshee8 Posted June 14, 2006 Report Share Posted June 14, 2006 You could JB weld the tank, it should hold up to the fuel. Just make sure you prep the area you're fixing. Don't use JB Weld, because your 2 stroke oil will turn it to mush. You will have to find a 2 part epoxy, that's gas and oil resistant.
