What is going on at Trinity?

Recommended Posts

Didn't get mine from Trinity...but had the same problem.

Had to have the top and bottom resurfaced for mine to seal.

The problem is not with the Cub from CP...the problem is the finish at Millenium.

CP industries make the cub. They send them to millenium for nikasil coating and sandblasting the exterior finish...

My base gasket and head both leaked... Ended up shaving both ends, and using a thicker base gasket to accomodate...

I'm starting to read about this happening on here and PS....

To his credit, Calvin (CP of CP industries) did offer to look mine over. My problem was it was already clean up ported...and I didn't have time to remove it, send it out...have him inspect is and then get it sent back. I had a riding trip planned...and couldn't wait that long.

You need to contact CP insdustries...It's not Trinity's fault, they are merely a reseller...unless they built your motor in house and let it leave the shop that way.

I have never had any Trinity parts, so maybe I shouldn't even say anything, but all the people on this site that have had problems leads me to believe the quality control for their products has went down hill. When you are making racing, or performance parts your reputation for making quality parts is worth its weight in gold.

So, I am stearing clear of Trinity with the current reputation. They are right up there with Vito's..........

In Trinity's defense I want to say that they have been cooperative in trying to solve the problem and have even tried to comensate me . Nonetheless, they are sending me the 4th motor as we speak, and I'm starting to wonder if i should contact "Calvin" before I even assemble it.

Actually you are misinformed. Trinity does all of the machining on there cheetahs. They get a bare cast from someone (maybe CP Industries), and then they do all the machining and porting. On the cylinders and head. Then they are sent to millenium for coating. I dont know if the cubs are the same way or not.

That is good to know...

Since CP INd. makes the Cheetah and Cubs...I'm going to assume everyone gets theirs from there...

I got mine (4 mile cub) from Jeff @ FAST racing, and I know the nikasil and sand blasting was done at millenium...

Since the coating (nikasil) and sand blasting for Trinity are still done at Millenium, however...might possibly still be the same issue...the problem is not with the porting or machine work, it's the finish...

I'd love to see the port work on a trinity cub vs. one you buy from another reseller...:)

You should contact calvin. I have heard alot about the cylinders lately leaking but it has been the cubs I have been hearing about. If you are on your 4th motor something is going on that Calvin should know about. I am sure since this is his product he can answer any question you have.
