hollisatp
I have tried cleaning the carbs but still no luck. When I keep it pinned, the right carb runs out of gas. Any help would be appreciated..
9603banshee
maybe try a pingel fuel valve.....it will definatly help if you're running out....
dajogejr
Or for half the price, a fuel pump...it'll flow enough for just about everything... Or...the old trick of removing one of the floats. That gives you that much more space for gas... Or...larger float bowls... Make sure your fuel lines are clear and unkinked, too...
cdwood37
I had the same problem man, i bought a pingel valve and the problem was solved and they look pretty trick also
dajogejr
Question...CD... How long does it take them to run out of fuel? I'll be running a similar setup, soon... Normally, our longest drags are anywhere from 500 feet to around an 1/8 mile... I've been told and read...unless you run alky and a drag port...a stock should flow enough.. Whaddaya think? hollisatp
Pingel sounds good, but why does only one carb run out. Could it be something to do with my floats? They are clean as is the inside of both carbs.
9603banshee
the one side that's running out might need your float height adjusted.....it could be set where it's NOT allowing the max amount of fuel in your bowl, therefore, sucking it dry too soon.....this is a very good possibility to fix your problem.... hollisatp
Cananyone walk me thru this? I am very familiar with the carbs but have not seen anyadjustment on the floats. do i have to bend?
cdwood37
I would pull onto the pavement form the dirt and when i would get to 5th gear and start to top out it would sputter and if i didn't let off it would cut out completely, thats with a 16/41 gearing so probably a little sooner with a 15t or less front due to the faster revs. It was mt right carb that was running out to and i don't know why, i adjusted the float heights a little higher than specs to see if a little more fuel in the bowl would help but same problem so i bought the pingel and problem solved. Its easy to install. Take the old gas valve out of the tank and take a knife and cut the middle of the two hole out and make it a little wider. The directions come with the pingel valve and they are very descriptive.
