Justifing it with their future pipe dreams and how much they will contribute when they "get their companies off the ground. Utter B/S. Bitch about all the free food we've sent to Africa and every other god forsakin place on the earth. I work my a$$ off and am gone 12-13 hours a day to allow my wife to stay at home. Her younger sister is married to a guy the same age as me, 26, and he drives a concrete truck when he feels like working. They live in goverment assisted housing (the projects), get $500 a month in food stamps, and the kids are on medicaid. The guy brings in a good $400 a week, add in the $125 a week in food stamps, no insurance premiums from work (good for $50 at least), and barely any rent. He's living better than most, thanks to me. I am tempted to report them all the time, but I feel guilty because of the kids. Everyone gets down sometimes, no doubt. But I've got heart and pride and it won't let me live like that because there are way to many options. It makes me sick when it's so close to home, so I can't sympathize with you. I've been there myself, lost my 60k/year job to downsizing(fuckers can't hire anyone with half the training I have anymore ironically hilarious). And am pulling in right around $40k. I had a house, new truck, atv, and was living comfortably when we had our child. Didn't expect him i'll be honest pull and pray didn't work for me. :biggrin: But now I'm scratching to get by, working on knocking all my unnecessary debt out which will free up a couple hundred a month. Boy is still eating everything, full insurance the way it should be and my fiancee stays at home with him while I pull anywhere from 6-17 hour days. Its called sacrafice people. If the guy can't affor formula for his kid I'll be glad to help far differentfrom the person saying they cant work etc than working side jobs to make almost what they are getting from the government driving better cars than people busting thier ass. In a perfect world, I'd like to have been more monetarily secure when we had this child, but the reality was that wasnt going to happen, and I wasnt going to be 50 raising a 15 year old. MILO Posted June 20, 2006 Report Share Posted June 20, 2006 (edited) i'm so disgusted after reading all these replies to this thread that i don't even no where to begin. it pisses me off too that some people take advantage of the welfare system. hell, my own sister had abused it for years before she got off her ass and got a job. she doesn't make much now and still requires some assistance. but by God at least she's trying to do it on her own now. my wages have me working about 2 hours a week too much to qualify for any assistance, and that blows. if we qualified, i would do it without an ounce of shame. there's a difference between accepting the help that is out there, or taking advantage of the system and being a worthless lazy ass bastard / bitch that lives off of it. your income sets the level of assistance you recieve also. it's not like i'd have all the same benefits that someone with half my income would have. one thing that does really piss me off are the people who complain that they don't have money to pay their bills, feed and clothe the kids, etc, but they never run out of beer or cigarettes. if your beer and cig's are more important to you than the well being of your kids then fuck off, you don't deserve any assistance from anybody or anything. and don't bitch to me about your bills over your new cell phone or new computer either. anything i have i've worked my ass off for it and it's taken years to get the things i have now. i've bought one thing, paid it off, then bought another and paid it off, and so on. so i have had the same car for 14 years, the same sport bike for 10 years, my 93 blazer for 6 years, this computer for 6 years, and so on. and yes, my wife bitches at me every time i spend $20 on the shee, unless there's ot on my paycheck to cover it. the bottom line is you need to live within your budget. all the bitching and moaning and bashing aside, you need to determine what your priorities are, and not exceed your budget with things that you don't need. it's that simple. some will give up more than others, but hey that's just life. but as usual, this has just turned into another bitch fest that will go on and on until someone finally shuts it down. :yankyank: Edited June 20, 2006 by MILO Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have opinions about the system but I am jaded because of what I have seen over the years. Hopefully no one thinks I was complaining about my situation with my original post. I have sacrificed and will continue to do so for the benefit of my baby girl. (KX250 on the chopping block) Funny thing is most of the time it does not even feel like sacrifice. I am however going to try and build something that will allow us to attain our previous level of income. That is why I posted. To let people know I have some good products to offer and a way to shop on line that may save you all some money and help us out at the same time. I encourage everyone to always keep there options open and continually look for ways to better themselves. There is nothing wrong with that. We are all capable people. I also paid for my brother's Meth rehab-$25000 I chipped in $3000 to make my cousin's house handicapped friendly(Her 4 year old has rhumatoid arthritis) I'm glad to help my family, as I believe familys should stick together. I just feel that the gov. is sucking me dry, and a bunch of people that don't really need the help are the cause. Cut my taxes and let me help my own. Posted June 20, 2006 Report Share Posted June 20, 2006 well we can judge cause he told us she had a job and complained about her job being too hard. i watched my sister have a baby and still work at her crappy job with her asshole boss, people do it all the time. since when does becomming a mother make you a victim of life?? im not trying to be a bitch or be negative all the time, but damn. kids are such a blessing, seeing my sister and her daughter be so close and enjoy each other so much is amazing to me. to see a mom with a baby who doesnt act like the kid is a burden. wow. what a concept. to see a mom work to support her kid and not complain about it all the time. wow. what a concept. my sister would love nothing more than to be a stay at home mom, but she isnt in the position to do that. does she complain? no. does she get aid? no. she works, and goes to nursing school to better herself and enjoys every minute she spends with her daughter, even the 2am bottle feeding times. meat, i think your error is in thinking that all of us who get pissed and criticize are a bunch of easy living people who have had nothing but easy times in their lives, which i think is quite the opposite for most of us. i know blue deuce worked his ass off and was living in his car when he and his wife first got together. hes sucessful now due to his hard work alone. im sure the struggles he went through are exactly why he gets so pissed about stuff like this. hey, like doink, im not getting any younger. im gonna be 26 soon, i might want to have kids, but no way am i gonna let that happen until i can afford it. be it on my own or married. would you like to support me, through your tax dollars, to start having babies right now, just cause i want one? i dont think so. and the whole whats marriage have to do with it thing matters because his fiance isnt telling the state that she has a fiance, she is saying the babys dad isnt in the picture. if they applied for aid as a couple they wouldnt get it CAUSE THEY DONT NEED IT. hes saying not to get married cause if they were married the state would obviously know he IS in the picture, and therefore his fiance wouldnt qualify for aid. My fiance wakes up at 5 in the morning, drives 20 minutes to drop my son off with my mother and my daughter off at preschool. She then drives 30 minutes back to school for accounting (which she is paying for with her GI Bill). She gets done school and drives 20 minutes back to work which she starts at 11:00, and since the first lawnmowers started up and trash has gotten heavy with yard waste, she hasnt been getting home until 10:30-11:00. And as far as me working a 2nd job....its almost impossible to find an under the table job around these parts and thats pretty much the only way I'd be allowed to work. You know what I do for a living brooke, did you happen to forget that I have a CDL license. I'm only allowed to work 60 hours a week. Which leaves me about 7 hours a week I could work. Every weekend I'm doing side jobs with my brother in law, putting up fences, retaining walls, siding, stone veneers, stucco, roofing. You name it, we can do it. My truck blew a transmission and it cost my 1300 for a new one. I had money saved but it dwindled away quickly. In the last 7 months I've been moving things around trying to get myself in a position so my fiance doesnt have to work the hours she does and have more time with the kids. I've never stolen a thing in my life, not even a bolt from home depot. You think I like doing this? Things were coming down to within 10-15 bucks a month when the bills rolled around, and a couple times my account went negative, which was an extra 32 bucks that I had to be able to suck up the next month. Like blue deuce, I have plans and ambitions, and if 80 bucks a month from the govt is gonna help keep them from slipping away, and have me end up living out of a car like him and his wife as you said, then I'm going to accept the help and one day when I'm in his position, hopefully I'll be a better man and not put down the person who is in the position I once was. If you want someone to bitch at, come with me down to philly and I'll show you 4 different homes that look like complete shit on the outside, but are palaces on the inside. And none of them work, they just pop out kids and sell the food stamps and grants and everything you can imagine from the govt. Anyway....I think I'm done with this.....you guys will never obviously get my position....and oh yeah....my banshee has been sitting for over a year with a bad crank....it can wait, I'll have my chance to ride it again one day. Sure, I could sell it to buy the formula, and I'm sure you guys would respect me a lot more for it. But I'd much rather suck out the 1/100000000000000 of a penny out of each of your paychecks Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, the one guy at my work, he had twins, and he's struggling too. I've been giving him half of the formula we get. I've got the last payment on my truck coming up in a couple days, and I've got enough to cover it. By the time my son runs out of formula, I'll be able to afford to buy my own.....and the formula I'll still be getting with the checks will be going to him. I appreciate all your comments.....not that I care about them because you guys obviously dont know a dingleberry about me (its obvious by the comments). I said that she is going to be working part time coming up, because I've put myself in a position that she can quit the job she has, to be able to have more time with the kids. I've completely rearranged my life and sold cars and struggled to get rid of any debt. Since I'm selling my dakota to have cash in the bank, and selling her car to get rid of the car payment, I had to scratch together money over the last few months to do that. And thats why this irks me so much. I'm taking a few bucks from the government to be able to make this process a little easier, such a slim amount that its almost ridiculous that your bitching at me for it when theres people out there living off your tax money. I guess you people think I'm over here going na na na na na na, but personally, I think its pretty sad that I have to scam the govt in the first place. They'll hand out checks all day long to low lifes that do nothing all day except watch their cable tv that the govt is paying for on their leather couches, but wont help me out with 80 bucks a month for a couple months because we make like 800 dollars to much a year.
