Since you said mostly trails, go with the Raptor 700.

Is there a reason you're not looking at the YFZ 450?

While the raptor does have pretty good suspension, the 450 is better hands down.

Banshees can be made to be good trail bikes. Stock form...they flat out are not.

True...

The question is...

Do you want to spend 1500 or so on suspension, pipes, etc., or just buy a four stroke and ride it.

MAYBE a pipe and airfilter....

I honestly think once you spend money on suspension for a shee, pipe it, etc., you'll be well over the price of the fourstroke....

Retail on a new banshee $6200, retail on a new raptor $7000. Pipe it and throw shocks on it, you would be just over the price of the raptor, and would kick its ass everywhere.

True...find 3 shocks and pipes for 800 bucks (new...of course) and I'd be impressed.

Sure they can be found used...but, after spending 6K on a new machine, I'd be damed if I bought used/second hand parts for it!!

i really want the speed and the sound of a 2 stroke, what trails are here are just simply a tractor path we have like 10 fields all hooked togeather and not alot in the woods... we have lots of pipe lines that are very high.. and would be climbing them all the time.. and i need it loud.... reallly loud

haha gotta have that...

[ohh yeah its a 2005 its the all black shee and its a spicial of 5 grand i thought thatwas a damn good price.. still in its box ive been lookin at it for a year now and he said look ill drop it to 5 would you take it i said um yeah... so thats the story of what it is and the price so i would have no prob puttin the shocks on it and pipes

IMO a piped 4 poke is louder then a shee, unless the shee is running non-silenced drag pipes.

If all your trails are large and fast, and you want fast - shee al the way!!

I just think for slow speed cruising 4 pokes are better. Other then cruising shee is top dog.

don't let anybody tell you that a banshee is not a good trail ride. when you learn to handle a banshee in the woods, and manipulate the clutch and power band, you will not be disapointed. sure, a few bolt on mods will help- pipes, filter, shocks, tires, etc. and of course having the carbs set up properly. but a good rider can make the shee an awesome trail bike. but those open stretches to wind it out on is where shee will really kick ass though. i'd pick a screaming shee over the blah-blah -blah of a 4 stroke anyway. :headbang:
