Top end/drag pipe shootout.

Recommended Posts

shearers have an awesome top end with a hard hit but not much on botton.

cpi should have more on the bottom and not so hard of a hit but will lose just a bit on top compared to shearers.

rockets have a pretty strong bottom end not so hard of a hit and a top end that i feel is better than the cpi. (on a 4mm motor i had)

grr inframes, who knows cuz i dont know anyone who has them but i bet theyll be pretty awesome.

lrd and trinity are not really drag pipes so i wouldnt even worry about them. if you wanna go with a non-drag orientated pipe id go with t5s.

I dont know about the others most of them are serious drag pipes from what i hear except mabe the lrd some like em some dont.I just put a set of trinity stage lvs on my bike and they made good power thourgh out. I went up 1 size on the front[15] and still have good bottom great mid to high. They are kinda high but the stainless steel is very nice.I feel they are not a full drag more of a allaround mid to top pipe. The others you mentioned from what i hear are more full top end pipes not to say they are not great pipes just depends more on what you plan on doing with them. The trinitys are really smooth and do pretty good anywhere.

It should be added that unless you get your bike ported, you won't take full advantage of drag pipes.

Should you go that route, ask your builder what pipe they prefer. Chances are a reputable builder will have their own opinion, and what works best with their setup.

I don't think you're going to get a smooth on/off delivery with any of the drag pipes. Sure...some will "lessen" that a bit more than others...but, it's gonna hit...be a narrow powerband, and make a lot of power in that short spread.

Unless you're committed to duning and drag racing...a drag pipe might not suit your needs....

I've got some Trinity stuff. : Stage IV pipes, clutch kit, other misc. parts. The quality and craftsmanship of the products are second to none. The customer service is...OK, I hear it's alot better than it used to be. They've got some new guys over there resently...so far so good. I don't have anything BAD to say about my experiences with them. Although expensive, I love my pipes. Stainless Steel is the shit. They are comparable to T5's and make more top end power and sound better IMO. I wouldn't consider them to be drag pipes, more like all around with strong mid-top. They do make DRAG pipes though too.
