Free advice: BUY THE TOOL

I dont think there is any way of getting it off without messing it up without causing damage. I learned the hard way. A three armed puller is sure to damage it and, if you hit it with a hammer, it can loose it's magnatism. {is that a word?). Most bike shops have the tool in stock and its cheap. good luck.

Possible...but I bet it bent or warped your flywheel...

For less than 20 bucks, it's not a gamble I'd be willing to risk...

I know this is a dumb question...but gotta ask. You are threading the puller in far enough, right?

Once it's in as far as you can....put the pop bolt (the smaller one in the middle..) and hit that with an impact gun. One or two quick raps will pop it right off.

If the threads are stripped that bad on the flywheel....you have two other options.

Either will ruin the flywheel.

Used a three jaw puller, or weld the new puller you have onto the flywheel....

As said, either will ruin it.

make sure to use a wire brush to clean the dirt and crap out of the threads on the flywheel, then use alittle wd40 on them before you thread the puller in, hold the flywheel and turn the puller in till it bottoms out, if you dont get the puller bottomed out you have a good chance of stripping the threads, thighten the center bolt down with a couple quick wraps with an impact gun, then take a hammer and smack the center bolt a time or two, then you should be able to run it off with the impact.

Ya you needed to put a little WD-40 on the threads of the puller and make sure that it bottoms out when you screw it in. Otherwise I heard because the threads are so small if not enough bite, they will strip and you are FUCCCCC$#*@$ with a capital FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

New wheels are not cheap either................. good luck man
