Sassa Massa
Hey everybody. I'm starting to snoop around looking for some pipes but I'm not sure what the hell to get. The bike is stock for now but I would eventually like to get it ported. I've got T5's on the brain because everybody seems to point towards them but am I gonna be pissed if I go onto a slow trail? I don't do slow trails very often, but sometimes I end up in places where I have to. Thank you to everybody who offers their opinions. badbanshee01
T-5's are a good are all around pipe but so are fmf fatties and they are much cheaper also, but not as good as quality.
Sassa Massa
how do the fatties react to porting? obviously not as good as a drag pipe but I need something that I can trail ride with too.

I ran T5's on my trail banshee for the longest time and was really pleased with the overall performance...and they react really well with porting from what I hear...don't think you could go wrong with them
hittintrees srh
ive got t5's on my shee and i love em!!!! but if i was you, i'd buy some pro-circuit platnums-that have AWSOME low and mid range power. Even have loads of top end. perfect for trails. there also pretty damn good in the sand. Edited May 25, 2006 by hittintrees srh
Geoff
I've wondered this same question for duning. What about Paul Turner high revs? On paper it seems like they would be the best of both worlds.....In a couple months I'll be in this same situation on what to buy.
Justintoxicated
Fattys make more power than T5's through most of the RPM range except on top where the T-5's make a couple extra HP. T5 and Fattys both do well with porting, but like you said not as much as a drag pipe. I also feel T5 have a better finish, and cooler looking silencers as well, but the new fattys that are real chrome look pretty good too. Or you could always buy a used set cheap off someone who is selling some like me. Both are great all around pipes, The two choices you listed are very comparable with each other performance wise. Animalman294
I am really happy with my T-5's. Some people I hear are runnin' them on cub motor's (only because they can't afford new pipes). When I get mine back from Jeff I am going to be runnin' the same thing for a while. I mean there are a lot better pipes to run on that motor, but for now they are going to work out just fine. They are an all around style pipes and I have no bad things to say about them.... .
dajogejr
T5s are good pipes, period. Animal...I dyno'd 84.8 HP on T5s and stock carbs on my Cub motor. That's nothing to sneeze at...by any means. Sure, I'm mising out on 10 to 20 horse on top by not going to larger carbs and drag pipes...but, it's still fun to ride. And I haven't even gotten mine running 100% yet... letsgetthisdone
I would go with the T5's. I've got em and I go riding with someone who has fatties and when the trails get tight and twisty he is clutching the bike and downshifting a lot more than I have to. And in drag race i usually pull him by 1-2 bike lengths . He has basically the same engine setup with the single carb too. So i would get the T5's. That and Toomeys sound way better than any silencer FMF has. Edited May 26, 2006 by letsgetthisdone
