desert racing rear end

At the moment I'm running a +2inch swing arm on my banshee with a single rate Reiger Racing shock and standard linkage. Im just not happy with the performance of this set up for desert racing. Has anyone out there had much to do with goods suspension set ups for large whoops. I was wondering about running a linkless twin rate shock set up. How would this go? I'm really looking for more suspension travel.

Any suggestions would be great, Thanks.

you can get long travel linkage from elka, and try the dual rate elka. I just added a +1.5 swinger on my rappy and had the stock shock re sprung and race tech gold valve set up in it. Made a huge differance in the whoops. BebBB runs stock swinger and I think works rear, and he is flying through whoops. Try playing with your preload and comp and rebound settings before you fork out the cash.

thats awsome but thats an outlaw chassis. pretty much a 250r replica rear end on a banshee. so to have a setup like that you would have to buy alot of parts. check out socalfab.com they build some pretty big suspension for any quad. they had a no link with a king shock on a stock frame.

Yeah I know what it is, it's mine. I don't see why somebody couldn't just move the upper mount and run the same set up. The upper shock mount does get moved up and forward several inches. I never realized just how shitty the stock suspension is on a Banshee until i got this thing. As you can see from the picture, I beat the shit out of this thing and it has yet to do anything unpredictable at all. It actually gets smoother, the faster you go.

i race district 38 in souther cali. and im running a stocl swinger with an elka rear shock and i fly through the desert, the biggest thing you can do to improve the ride is have the shock valved for your weight and riding terrain. the compression and rebound is a big help too. but if you dont set it right you end up with the rear end being too slow on the return or it becomes very bucky and will try to throw you over the bars. i would also say that +2 is the absolute max you want to go on the swing arm if your gonna race desert.. but then again what do i know i have only won 2 of 3 races this season in my class.
