DemonShee
My motor is a 4mm stroker long rod, dune porting by redline racing, cool head with three different sizes of domes, FMF fatty gold pipes w/powercores, 35mm airstryker carbs, vito's intakes, and boysen reeds. My question is what timing advance should I run? Keep in mind I ride high altitudes from 4000ft up 11,000ft. I see commonly on here +4, I talked to packerd racing from nearby Utah and he said run +7. Would like to see what everyone thinks. Thanks
wesw
depends on your fuel if high octane try +7 but it will probably like +4-5 +7 is common for dragging but with fmf, i dont see you doing that all the time. hittintrees srh
Mr. Packard knows two strokes better than most-no one can doubt that-but +7 timming does sound like a lot-start at +4 and go from there.
FASTOYS
Demon, your welcome to pm me or call anytime and i will try to help you out. You should prolly call Redline since he did the motor but since you said "dune port" i would say prolly 4-5 degrees timing should work with your port timing! More aggressive porting (drag) and better race fuels can get away with more timing usually.
