case porting

hi all and i find theas pic. of case match and port but i didnt get it very will i mean do i have to drill the blocked holes open in blue color. and do i have to make the holes in red biger and do i have to re-angle it or leave it in stock angle but make it biger holes . and for the hole how big do i have to make it is thear any number should i use it .

Im not 100 percent sure, but I think those holes are for the bearings to get lubrication ? When I had my cases apart, I thought about that and bolted one of the cylinders to the top case to see how it looked underneath. and it looked like it was about as smooth and free flowing as could be and didnt look like it needed any modification :shrugani:

I ported my cases myself. All you have to do is set the cylinder base gasket down on top of the case and trace out the inside lines of the gasket onto the top of the case. Thern shave out the metal. I used my trusted Dremel tool and a cutting bit used to deburr metal. It worked well and fast too. I probably didn't explain it as well as I should have. It is simple if you have some patience and a good set of bits for your dremel. The cases have to be separated or you'll get tons of metal in the lower end of the motor.

I leave this kind of work to the pro's. A pro can extract 2-3 horse power in this area when done right. I've ported alot of bb and sb chevy's but the 2 stroke seems a little more unforgiving if you make a mistake. I'm having Jeff at F.A.S.T. do all my porting. Just my .02 guys. :cheers:

I just did mine....

As said, I put the big bore base gasket down, used a sharpie...then, used a carbide dremel to remove the metal a little at a time, carfully.

 

Then, I used a scotchbrite pad and die grinder to smooth it. NOT polish it...just smooth the metal.

 

Worked fine here...
