HOME POWDERCOATING 101

Recommended Posts

Ok iv been powdercoating now for a few weeks. I got about 8 or 9 parts sprayed and so far everything came out great. I'v been using the Eastwood infra red heat lamp and damn it works really well. I bought a temp gun with a laser pointer on it, so I can keep an eye on the temp of the parts, the heat lamp gets everything right up to 400 degrees, it works great. I built a booth and parts hanger setup. I can rotate the part on its hanger so I don't have to move the heat lamp much, if at all.

Question: Can I PC chrome parts ??

Do you mean shooting powder over an already chromed part?? you could, but I don't know how well it would stay adheared to the chrome plating though. I got the same set-up from eastwood about a month ago too and have done a few test pieces for a few friends which looked to trun out pretty good and just waiting for them to real world test them and get back to me on how it's holding up. used the heat lamp on those parts myself, just got to get the garage re-arranged so I can get my freebie oven in there so I can really crank out some parts. now I got guys coming out of the woodwork wanting stuff done. :baseball_shocked: did you get the book w/ it too??
