watkins
Did you drill and tap the new holes for the idle kit?
dajogejr
a. What do you mean they're too big. Elaborate? b. You should grind those bosses you just tapped flat, so the lock nut can seat and lock flat. If one is in a little further than the other, so be it. I take each carb, turn the screw until it JUST touches the slide. Then, I turn it in 1.5 turns to start. You'd better make sure the carbs are sync'd properly, too while you're at it... This isn't a hard mod to do, just patience and precision....
batoutofshell
i think we have a case of the stripped carb threads possibly
dajogejr
Possibly...but, if he just took the TORS off, good chance the tops have never been off before. Do the caps like "float" over the tops of the carbs?
LeadBoots
no the carbs are not stripped. the new carb caps will thread but they do not tighten up all the way. like when u r putting them on there is play in it but its not that much . they still work i was just wondering if they were ment to be like that. dajogejr
I don't understand...what do you mean by play? Uh oh...did you make sure the rubber rings are in the top of these caps, to seal and seat the caps? They only need to be hand tightened...then held in place with the gold L Shaped brackets...
