avc8130
So my Outerwears over my Pro Design foam filter is killing me. I had it on last weekend and suddenly my quad lost all power and wouldn't run right. I took it off and it ran great again. Obviously it was clogged up. So I went and cleaned it at home the best I could. Went to ride today and again it wouldn't run with it. I took it off and noticed it was still a bit clogged in some spots. How do you clean these things? ac

avc8130
Well, I ran it through the washer machine with my riding gear. I used some Spray N Wash on it. It seems much cleaner now. I can see through the whole thing now. I will try it again next weekend! ac
avc8130
Well, I took it out for a ride and again it would just bog and never come on the power. When I slip the outerwears off it runs like a raped ape! It is very weird. I cannot believe how restrictive this outerwears could be! ac
RIPPEN
After several good rides I just clean both filter and outterwears.. Iam not sure if your supposed to but I use the same spray on the outterwears as you use on the filters to clean out the dirt and oil... Seems to work good, havn't had any problems yet. racer
clean it with gas or something thats a solvent 512819[/snapback] careful. catch a solvent thats too caustic and youll need a new outerwear.
dinicolada
Have you tryed cleaning the filter itself it maybe derty and the outerwaer is just making it so no air passes
avc8130
The filter looks super clean. I am going to run it without the outerwear until the filter is dirty and then clean everything. The filter I am using is a Uni 2 layer. ac
mnduner
ive always used nonclorinated brake cleaner. aerosol cans like 1.50 at any parts store and its fun to burn too.
Dark Ranger
Does the outerwear compress the filter a lot? If it does it could be restricting the air flow.
DIRTMAN350
I run a pro-desing plate with a K&N filter with outerwear and have not had any problems yet. I too clean mine after every ride. Use the same cleaner for air filter and outerwear.
