fastbanshee8
Mine is fixed. When I started to disassemble last night, I look down and the choke tube had come lose. put it back on, put the air cleaner back on, and it fired on the second kick. Went out this morning before work and it fired again on the second kick. I was using VERY VERY small amounts of starting fluid. I am talking 1/2 second burst from the can. The way I see it, starting fuild, carb cleaner, anything like that can not be good, since it has no lube in it. . . . Good luck. Check that choke tube and make sure there are no cracks or anything in it. Brian 514041 WD-40 works real good, as a starting fluid. BKOLFO4
I think that did it. Took it 5 kicks then it started I will see tomorrow if that fixed it. 514257 What is "that"??? How did you fix it? I ran my last heat cycle last night for break in. Man is it a screamer. I had never ridden anything but a Banshee with pipes only on it. This thing is scary fast for me!!!! It now starts on the first kick every time. . . . Brian Edited May 11, 2006 by BKOLFO4
Satsol67
I guess its fixed. I went out this morning and it fired up on first kick but I didnt have to use the choke. So time will tell! On a different note. I notice after I wash it something must get wet. It fires up but when I rev it up as I let go of the throddle and it goes back to idle it is like it wants to die but it doesnt. I have noticed that a few times. Now it is getting my worried about washing it. I try to keep it clean as I can and would hate to not be able to wash it at the end of the day. Any ideas? Satsol67
Oh sorry what i did to fix it. I just pulled the check out and cleaned it. It looked like it had some crap on it.
sheefreak
Sounds like your TORS is kicking in when wet. Try unplugging the control box uderneath the gas tank if you haven't already and see if that cures your problem.
Satsol67
Frank, thank you for the chain info. I figured it out. What took me a few minutes is i had to turn it counter clockwise to tighten it. It sags a little until i sit on it. Is that normal? As for the choke problem ithat didnt fix it I just wonder if the compression is boarder line and its just time to do a rebuild. It is 110 and 115. I want it to last through the summer then I plan on doing a rebuild. It has a knock that I dont like. I plan on doing a bore and replace the barrings. Satsol67
As for the WD40 I tried it and I couldnt get mine started using it. Carb cleaner seems to work great.
night
Dear Satsol67, Could you please summerize in simple words and clear descriptions what you did to fix your cold start problem. Thanks.
Satsol67
Hi Night, What I did didnt fix shit. I still have to use carb cleaner to start it when its cold. What I did was pull out the choke and clean it. I think my problems is its rebuild time. Enough compression to run and have fun but I dont think enough to create a good sucktion for the choke to work right. As I have said before as long as it lasts my through the summer I will be happy. I plan on doing a rebuild when it gets to cold to ride.
