well here is my story . Me an badassbanshee479 ryan an my brother in law went to mio michigan , bull gap to be exact. My banshee was running like crap but good enough beat everything there, besides badass he would of killed me . So we deside to go trail riding , we get way out in the woods an were all low on gas i am the lowest about 1/4 tank. We are at this sign 14 strait or 13 miles back like a loop . We have no trail map bro didnt want to stop. So about 10 min later i run out of gas badass says he staying with me ryan takes off with my key to catch bro an get gas. its about 730 pm the tow strap fell off badasss quad we have nothing , ihad a new lbz nylon shirt rolled it up made a rope. So we pull my quad about 10 miles still in the middle of no where. So badass looks in his tank an maybe has 1/8 tank of , well where are they with the gas? so we push mine the woods an its 9:00 now getting dark an cold maybe 40 im wearing a tee shirt an my shreaded up jersy , no tools lighter etc. so i couldnt sit there no more said lets ride till we run yours out of gas an walk the rest of the way. Where the hell are they at? go to start badass cracks the clutch cover atf all over the ground .It is dark push his next to mine an start walking proubaly about 5 miles it is 11:30 pm cant see 3 feet in front of you barly see the trail phone dont work an is chirping because it is almost dead. then we here a quad in the back ground an run back to the last intersection an wait it is ryan on my bros banshee they found our shees in the woods an followed our tracks . yes they found us got lucky, if they would of brought gas down the same trail it wouldnt of taken 4 hrs an 5 miles of walking , dont go into the trails with out a trail map even is someone says they know the trails , but that doesnt mean you do. So we got loaded up by 1:00 pm an home by 3:am this was on saturday im shure badass will add to this just to much to write . so hope you all enjoyed an wont make the same mistake. later

That sux man, I feel your pain. Been lost and low on gas before, but luckily found my way out just in time.

So, are those trails any good anyway? I've been to Bull gap a couple of times, but never tested the trails. Are they nice and wide/fast or tight and choppy?

Sucks bro...been there, done that.

The trails I've rode at Mio were whooped and tighter, some open areas.

Heading up to the UP this weekend, going to ride in the Newberry area.

If the trails up there run the same lines as the snowmobile trails, it should be open throttle fun!!

Best trails I've rode to date yet are in Peacock, MI...closer to Cadillac.

4th and 5th pinned trails, wide as a car or more 90% of the time.

With about 10 other quads, it was awesome! I think it was a 27 mile loop or so...

what a night, found out my bike trashed the stator side crank seal, causeung it to lean out the lft piston. which in turn caused it to kick back and brake my side cover. did not help that I was told the trails would be smooth and all sand so I left my drag shocks and paddle tires on my bike. note to self, a 4mill cub set up for drag racing has no place in tight wineding trails. right about the time the pipe would come on I would have to stand on the brakes and try and dodge trees.

all in all it was fun other than braking down and running out of gas. next time I will take my trail bike that I am building, and I will have a six pack rack with a gas can.

the peacock trail system is bad ass I have rode them many times. my grandparents live about 15 mins away from there. may have to try and meet up with ya next time you go up.

JT...my friend, couldn't have said it better myself. I could've told you Mio was tight. Remind me of a larger Mounds, or even Gladwin system.

Since the guys we've been going with have ridden Peacock a ton of times, we all agreed to try something new. Lax laws in the UP for riding (Cops and DNR generally aren't as bad) and new, wide open legal trails sounds like the idea!

Plus...two of the guys we're going with have been riding snowmobiles there for 20 years...so, we have guides...

This will be my first time out on my new build. To say I can't wait would be an understatement. I'm just hoping these are "peacock-like" trails to get to enjoy my new motor...!! You know what I mean!

That is great to know. I know they ride their sleds from newberry to Munising.

The key is going to be where to stash the trucks with gas.

I'm not going to trust UP race gas, And I've only seen 103 octane up there...I'd be in trouble!!

Thanks for the tip!!

Yeah...I could've done either, but...I don't ride very long loops..so, this is the exception to the rule.

I do have a 5.5 gallon tank sitting in my garage...but it's so FUGLY that I haven't painted it yet or put it on.

Seriously, something this fugly should damn near be against the law.

Most places we ride, never more than 10 minutes from the truck...this happens to be an exception...
