Id love to hunt one of those bad boys, i love deer hunting but would really love to get out and hunt one of those. What type of rifle you bringin>? Me personaly id use my trusty .270 with a 150 gr core lockt, deep penetration and great expansion, bullet choice is key and make the 1st shot count becuase u want that bullet transfering all its energy to that big ass thing to knock it down especally if your pullin off a 300 plus yard shot.

I'd use my .338 win mag. Moose aren't overly tough animals (like elk are) but they are big mofos. Might as well do some damage. Besides I would feel better cruisin around grizzly country with a big rifle (and maybe a .454). I carry my .44 mag anywhere I go outside of town (I'm in Alaska). I'd carry a .454 too but I don't have one  . I agree with DaFish that duck and goose hunting rocks, but big game hunting is amazing on it's own. It's a very primal natural feeling wandering around in the woods with a weapon looking for an animal to kill so that you can take it home and feed your family. It's hard to explain, but I'm sure most of you have done it at one time or another.

I am planning on taking my 7mm as my primary gun with 150 grain remington core-lokt soft point, but if we do alot of walking/hiking, I am also bringing my 30-06 model 70 featherweight with hand loads using a 180 grain harnady interlock with 47 grains of IMR4064. I have them both sighted in for 200 yards and can get a good grouping if I can hold it still enough. My dad is taking his .338 ultra mag with 250 grain remington core-lokt soft point. I shot it the other day and that thing kicks like a mule on steroids, after shooting that, then my .06 , was like shooting a .22.....LOL

Have to agree with everyone about just getting out and enjoying nature. I will be taking lots of pics, now the hard part is waiting until October.

This trip also justifies my new camo wardrobe that I will have to purchase.. Time to open up the cabelas catalog
