antifreeze reservoir

Recommended Posts

u dont need the bottle its just an over flow and its not a recerculating system.... its just there for environmental reasons. just re-rout u'r hose from the top of the rad by the cap to where the 2 other vet tubes are in front of the swing arm under heath the carbs. u will have to cut some off and if u are over heating just look under the bike to see if its over heating (see if anti freeze is dripping out) u will be re filiing u'r rad after u flip the lower rad hose around (if u got the t6's) so if u fill it too full it will drip out untill the level gets to where its suposed to be.

WRONG!!! Don't listen to them, You can run without and maybe you won't have a problem. My riding partner took his bottle off and was always overheating. He put it back on and has not had a problem since. When your bike heats up it will push water into the bottle, Then when it cools down it will suck that water back to the radiator, the result is that your radiator is always full to the top with coolant. Air in your radiator is a no no. Don't beleive me? Ask your local radiator shop about it. All modern cars have a recovery system for a reason.

You don't need it. Just cut the recovery hose so it will hang right over the front part of your engine so if it overheats it will hit the pipes and you will see the steam. We ride our dune bikes all day long with no problems at all. Engine ice and proper jetting and you should be fine.

I took mine off and just check the coolent level in the radiator every other ride. Some times I add a little bit, but I havent had it overheat once since I took it off.

Things that will help cool your banshee better

1.engine ice

2.mega flow water impeller

3.noss cool head

4.bigger radiator

It's called a coolant RECOVERY bottle , an overflow bottle only catches the overflow. If your stock banshee only had an overflow bottle it would not go back to the radiator when it cooled off. Ever notice that with a coolant recovery bottle your radiator was always full to the cap. No air in the system. Water cools your bike. Not air. Most of you have said you aren't using your bottle. Thats your call. Me, I know I'll never have a heating problem. I won't have to hang my hose over the pipes to "watch for the steam"
