Eazy
I noticed yesterday, when the bike is sitting, running or not, its leaking fuel out of the "overflow" tube on the left carb..Nothin' real major at the time, b/c it didnt do it all the time..Started it up today, and idling, it was a constant stream out of the overflow tube(the tube that drops down by the rear swingarm)..I made a trip down the road, and I checked to see if it was leaking as I was in 4th gear, about half-throttle..YEP! Constant stream, but this time it was out of the plastic overflow tube that comes directly out of the carb, on the left-hand side(if u were sittin' on the bike)...Whats the deal? Float/slider stuck?? Need some help guys!!
Wicked98Shee
sounds like ur float needle valve is either stuck or the float is out of adjustment ... i'd tear em aprart and give em a good cleanin' and check that your floats are still at the correct hight ... just my .02 hope it sets ya in the right direction
Eazy
I hope its just the float stuck or somethin' like that..I've got no idea on how to settem', lol. How do I clean them, just take the filters off, and spray come carb cleaner in the carb, and work the throttle? Or is there a more efficient way? Wicked98Shee
no ur gonna have to remove the carbs from the bike and take em totally apart and make sure there are no orings still in the carb or they will most likely melt .... use plenty of carb cleaner its ur friend and get a clymer manual " banshee bible" so if ya have a prob it will walk ya through the process. fastbanshee8
Could also be a bad float needle and seat. It sets above the float, and is what allows the gas into the carb.
Eazy
It even leaks out, when the bike is off, and you just turn on the fuel..Once you do that, it'll run out both tubes...WTF!!
fastbanshee8
Mine did that once, and it was the needles and seats above the floats, that went bad.
racer
mine leak like crazy. i just turn off the petcock and it stops it. i was going to put in new needle and seats but it was pretty pricey from what i remember so i just give the lever a quarter-turn and off i go.
