Recommended swingarm length

I want to change my swingarm for a shorter one but how short should i go? Now u have a +10 and im undecided between a +8 or a +6. My mods are in my sig, but in the near future i plan on some 33's and then later a stroker kit. The problem is that i can't stand to have the front come up on me and with the 10" it still comes up sometimes. I don't want to sit on the tank to take off or lean back for traction. Let me know what you guys think. I have an extra stock swingarm that i'm going to have extended for trial.

it sounds like a dune bike, you could possibly go with a 6 over, for the shortest.. and then it will launch with you having to lean forward.. either way you go when you drag youve got to shift your weight around in order to get the bike to react the best so go with what your comfortable with the most..

also if you decide to keep the 10 i would get more tire or regear it to spin those harder out of the hole.

Man standing up with a 10 over that is pretty impressive especially with your mods. That must be one aggresive drag port. I only have a plus 4 with my mods and 17/41 gearing and i can just hold it pinned and dumped the clutch and it doesn't try to stand up at all. but hopefully your 7 over will work.

To me, if you're standing it up with a +10 and your mods, you might want to look into tuning your suspension more. Going shorter on your swingarm is going to make it stand up even easier :shrugani:

When I first started dragging my banshee, I was standing it up with my +8 on dirt. Lowered the front end a little bit more, now I can dump it on asphalt and it takes off, wheels don't come off the ground anymore

Kinda what I was thinking. I just got off the phone with a local guy asking me nearly the same question, and I mentioned that suspension tuning will matter as much as swingarm length and paddle size.

When you lower the front end a bit, depending on where the CG is, you actually move that CG forward a bit. Every inch will count as well. Thats what I keep telling my wife anyway.

LMAO :rotflmao:

You're exactly right though Stan...I dropped my front end another inch and a half when I got back from the dunes, and after that, no more wheelies! The harder I dump it, the more the tires spin...
