dajogejr
Do you ride tight trails? No...keep it stock width? If you ride fast open trails, dunes, etc....then widen her up. Do a search on front rim swap...you can gain 3 to 4 inches of width up front without spending more than 20 bucks... Pair that with a +4 rear axle and it sure is nice in the turns. So a rear axle would be a good idea then. buy rim swap do you mean new rims and wider tyres or turning the rims round? thanks
dajogejr
Turning the front rims around. You have to plug the old valve stem hole (so it doesn't hit the brake componenets) and drill a new hole in the opposite side of the rim. That is the cheap, easy man's way....it will stress out the front end a little more. The next thing is buy new rims with an offset... The best idea is longer A Arms and longer shocks...but, that's big bucks...
Wallrat
Oh yeah and try to keep the front end just slightly wider than the rear or handling goes to shit.

bodge
The keyboard does seem a bit blurred after 20 pints of stella but i understood my question. Lets try to re word my question I have a brand new banshee, I will be using it for road use mainly and a bit of trails. Do you recommend that i fit a wider back axle? Can i just fit a back axle and leave the front wheel base standard? If i don't want to fit front arms can i fit some wheel spacers? Basically I want to make the shee as safe as possible for road use without spending to much money.

Flip your front rims around and save up some money and get the a-arms. Definately the way to go. You can get a used set from someone here or e-bay.
