Capone Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 Anyone ran them/know someone that does? I'd like to have a little more info on these.. he's selling more sets on ebay, for $600. Says they out-perform any other pipes out. I'll be running a drag ported +4 12 Port, just wonder how nice they'll be with that. Quote
ellison445 Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 I will know in a couple of days, MY boy just ordered a set. I do know GRR out frames are the best outframe pipe on the market ,so I know this will only be better. Anyone ran them/know someone that does? Buddy of mine with a 10mil cub lost 3HP and .1 in 300 feet with the GRR outframes and went back to his shearers. Then there are plenty of other folks that have good success with them. As far as the GRR inframe, i'm sure they are gonna be like CPI's or shearers and want a high exhaust duration. They'll probably perform similar to them, but personally, I don't like the mechanical design of them. The shearers are like T5's, where they curve down and give you access to your plugs and provide plenty of clearance for fuel lines and air filters. All things being equal, I'd take a set of shearers over them, and I've yet to see anyone with a dyno or other proof that even shows them being equal to a set of shearers. I ain't hatin' on GRR. Have never dealt with them, just giving my .02 Quote

Then there are plenty of other folks that have good success with them. i run grr suicide pipes and have tried numerous other drag pipes including inframe and out of frame shearers.in my experiences the grr's pull alot harder on bottom and mid than any drag pipes i've tried and i have tried a good many different kinds including shearer inframe and out of frame and cpi's.i tried them at the track in 500ft drags and ran the best et's with grr's.the shearers do seem to pull a little better on top than grr's and grr's deffinately pulled better all the way from bottom to top than any other i tried including cpi's.the main thing with grr's i found and andy will tell you this also is you gotta adjust your jetting and such to optimize the power of the grr's.alot of ppl just stick them on and go but don't tune for the grr's.i myself think shearer is a fabulous pipe but grr's have always performed the best with my setups.another thing with grr's is they are a super pipe for t rex motors.t rex's really seem to come alive more with grr's.just my 2 cents worth.
