RedRustler
My buddy is building a cub stroker motor and i am going to pick up the cylinders and cool head with pistons for a great deal. But my shop guy says that the motor has to be run with av gas or race fuel. I think he said it was a full race port with either 19 or 20 cc domes he was running 28 bored to 30 mm carbs would or should this setup run this type of fuel? Ruko
If it has 19cc domes you will need to run at least 50/50 race fuel
Ducman
It depends on what cub setup he is going to use and how much timing. If you have a +4 stroker, 68mm bore the 19cc domes will for sure require straight 110 race fuel, same for 20cc domes. If you have a stock stroke 64mm bore you could probably mix 110 race fuel and pump fuel 50/50 with the 20cc domes. This is more of a question for a builder, not very many people on the HQ can give you an asnwer with very much certainty (including myself) because the cubs haven't been used by all that many people yet and experimented with different dome sizes and setups. I asked similar questions a while back and just got the "ask your builder" answer. A good person to ask would be David Noss of Noss machine. blueshee03
a couple other factors come into play when it comes to whether you need race fuel or not.altitude is a big factor along with timing and even mix ratio.people at 500ft altitude might need race fuel with they're setup and that same setup at 3000 ft would be just fine with pump gas.so i think you need to figure in all the other factors when deciding whether or not you need race fuel.as for mixxing race fuel and pump gas i don't believe in it .in my oppinion its one or the other. dlnoss
Was the porting done by a builder? If so, they would be the best to talk to about it.
