Cotton eyed Joe
Is it true this is the last year for CRT's? Seriously, I have a monitor here that keeps fading in and out, shutting off etc, and was wondering if there was a monitor some of you guys would suggest. I know alot of you spend your days staring at a monitor so I'd like to hear what you would choose. $$$ is a factor, but not the only deciding factor. If its a little pricey, but a decent model thats fine. Over all, it has to be kind of big. I'd like to go LCD, but I wouldn't mind a CRT as long as it will still fit on my desk. bigboybanshee
My friend just got a 19" Samsung LCD monitor for just under 300 bucks; it's actually the same one combat talon has Quality is great! If it's something you'll be looking at all day long, spend the extra money on a flat panel LCD or something equivolent. It's much easier on the eyes, trust me....I stare at a monitor over 8 hours a day at work
PUSH THE THROTTLE
I've got a 22" professional series viewsonic flatscreen at home and it's great as long as you don't have to move it anywhere, it's heavy as hell.

Porno would be about lifesize on that... 494778 I bought it back when I was at ISU, some guy built a dual 2.4GHZ computer with a gig of ram, at the time it was top of the line but it's old and slow now. He had it for a month and got tired of it so he sold everything off and I picked up the 1 month old monitor for about half price of what it would have cost new. It was great for counterstrike or 3D modeling.

Hilarious
I have a 21" viewsonic lcd monitor, I think V201b model. Its a damn good monitor too. Easy on the eyes and It doesnt have any ghosting effect. Works really well with my autocad and games and stuff. Kinda pricy though. I think I paid somewheres around 600 for it. I'd go with a flat panel. You save tons of room on your desk and it doesnt generate the heat like the CRT.
RNBRAD
32" LG widescreen lcd. Of course I don't sit at a desk when on the computer. I sit in a lazy boy recliner with the keyboard in my lap.
Brooke
20 and 23 inch cinema displays the 23" is HD they are expensive, but the 23" is 'proof perfect' so the on screen colors are as close as possible to print colors, you dont have to hard proof. ....all of which is pretty useless to you, but i just like showing off my babies. Cotton eyed Joe
What I cant get over is how clean your desk is compared to mine. I've got all kinds of shiit cluttered everywhere at the office and at home. 495030 Same here. Thats why I'm considering a flat panel. More room to put more shit like scribbled notes about a job I did 4 months ago. Someone should start a thread about pictures of our desks at work. Brad, you suck. And look at you Brooke with your fancy desk, 2 monitors, rainbow post it notes and glasses. I wanna picture of you wearing your green sweater and those glasses. I bet you'd look like a librarian. I can't believe that monitor CombatTalon put a link too was $279.00. I thought anything LCD and bigger than a post card was going to be near the $800 mark. Looks like an LCD is going to be it. Just have to find a local place to buy it being I can't use my credit cards until my favorite Uncle Sam is paid off. Thanks for the replies!
