tijoe696
I got 75 psi after a rebuild on both cylinders. My compression tester is good. I ran 1 hour with him. It's enough to seal the ring ? Thank you !
trex banshee
did you have it bored or honed? or did you just replace the rings? you should have checked the ring end gap to see if it was too big.
tijoe696
My dealer honed my cylinders and they gave to me right piston for my cylinders. Everything's new, Piston, rind, pin, bearing .... And my head is A1. Thank you Edited March 21, 2006 by tijoe696
banshdog
Did you hold the throttle wide open when testing the compression?
woodro77
could be wrong size pistons for the bore
Wallrat
Did the place that bored your cylinders use the actual pistons that you were installing? Just cuz the piston has 65.00 stamped on em doesn't mean they're exactly 65.00. That's one idea. Other idea is you didn't check your ring gap. trex banshee
yeh you should have checked your ring endgap after the honing with your new rings to see if it was too big of a gap. if it is all the compression will pass right be the rings. trex banshee
well actually if ya think about it there shouldn't be any way it should even start with 75 lbs. yeh i would check your compression checker, or get another to compare the results to. PRAIRIEOUTLAW
Just how sure are you about the head being A-1? Is it possible that the gasket is not sealing correctly? Might be a start to make 100% on that before getting too stressed out. Surely the dealer would have taken the piston and sized it to the bore, but then again........ fastbanshee4u
Does it start easily?

rsheppick
I thought 135 in mine was low but then again im at 5,500 ft
dajogejr
If it starts relatively easy...there's no way 75Lbs is right. Mine has 110 right now...and it could start easier...and I know the compression tester I bought is good, it's a top of the line snap on my buddy bought. As said, before you lose all your hair over this, try another compression tester. My buddy used a cheapy in his 700 forumula snowmobile triple. One cylinder had 145, the middle had 180, the other had 130. This sled has about 8000 miles on it...and still started and ran great. I kept telling him the tester he used was JUNK. Sure enough, put my buddy's snap on tester on it, 135 across the board.... Right tools for the right job always help!!!
