Pest
My motor was doing the same thing, dropped the clip to the fourth position and never had a problem after that. 175 Main, CEL 4th clip, 52 pilot 358 Cub

J-Madd
I had my 400cc cubs with CPI inframes and 35 mm pwk with CEL needles, 48 or 50 pilot, I think, and 170 mains, and it screamed. I had the same problem with an occasional dead spot when you get back in the gas. I think the taper of the CEL needle has something to do with the problem. 23champ
have you checked your coolant bottle? One time I had a compression O-ring funked up on my head, and it was leaking a small amont of coolant into the cylinder causing it to miss every now and then. I dont run a coolant bottle, but I kept the overflow hose in the stock location. After riding it I could tell there was coolant coming out of the overflow hose. At first I thought maybe I just got the rad. too full, but after a few more rides I could tell it was getting worse.
dubbin337
thanks for all the replys, i order some mains and pilots and will mess around with it this weekend. Pest when you say you moved the clip to the fourth position, is that from the pointed end?
dubbin337
I finally got this thing running perfect but the jetting isnt really much different from what i started with. I went up to a 170 main, kept the 48 pilot and cel needle in the middle. i cleaned the carbs and installed a pingel valve and this thing was flying. i took it out to my riding spot and there wasnt anyone that could come close to me. The fastest bike out there until i got there was a quadzilla with some work and i beat him by about 7 bikes. Thanks Jeff for an awsome motor. Blue Duece
i would try the fatest fuel lines i could find and drill your gas cap out so it can breath, dont oil the shit out of your air cleaner(whatever it is your running) just clean it constantly
FASTOYS
Im glad you listened to the builder and didnt put like a 148-150 main or something in it! Might have been catostrophic. Sounds like we had ya close from the start! Glad your whippin up on them with your new ride!!!!
dubbin337
Yea jeff you pretty much set me up with the perfect jetting from the start. i really just cleaned the carbs, installed a pingel and gutted out my gas cap and this thing was running great. I also ran the 170, which seemed like you were kind of leaning toward that jet from the begining anyway. Thanks for the help.
