Bansheerook Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Did some research on and off for a couple of weeks on tires and just bought the itp mxr4's for 64.00 each. Heard they have a lot of bite during acceleration. Any body try them yet. Forgot to ask the pros here at HQ before spending the money. PS Stock dirt tires on the street. Blew a chunk out of one of the rears about an inch in dia. Oops, my bad. Quote
Bansheerook Posted March 17, 2006 Author Report Posted March 17, 2006 Oh yeah. They are 19-10-9. Smaller tires better? Quote
Bansheerook Posted March 18, 2006 Author Report Posted March 18, 2006 Ok, I also heard a little rumor. Is it true that if I go with smaller tires I am going to have to regear? Tell me no please. If so, is it very hard? Quote
banshee223 Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Going with a smaller tire will cause you to lose some top end, so if you don't want to lose any top end then you will ned to gear up some Quote
Bansheerook Posted March 18, 2006 Author Report Posted March 18, 2006 Is this very hard? Am I just changing out the small sprocket? Quote
Tim C Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Easiest and cheapest way is to get a front sprocket with one more tooth - if it's stock gearing now it will be 41 tooth rear and 14 front so just get a 15 tooth. Drive it first to see if you think you need to change it because you only went from a 20" to a 19" - so there's not really that much of a difference in size. Personally I mostly run a 15 tooth with 20" tires but it will depend on the type of driving you do and what mods you have .......there are a lot of people that like them geared down too. Quote
Bansheerook Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 Ok, ty. I called and they're only around $20.00. Thx for the input. Quote
Wicked98Shee Posted April 1, 2006 Report Posted April 1, 2006 mxr4's hook up like a mofo ... i run the 18's on mine and a 15t frt ... and have more than enough top end Quote
txblueshee Posted April 1, 2006 Report Posted April 1, 2006 Go with the mx6 or the SX's if you insist of running holeshots.... a set of 45$ of klaws will dog the itp's anyday of the week... Mike Quote

txblueshee Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 What do you ride? You'll cash a pair of mx4's in one night on a hard packed mx track... that's if you don't get a flat first... Mike Quote
Wicked98Shee Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 the hole shots don't wear quite as well as the klaw .. but the traction difference is worth it, my klaws have more tread on em and the mxr4's still out perfom them. we ride all kinds of terain from hard packed dirt ( the oval and mx tracks ) to soft loamy type stuff .. but man the klaws are some tuff tires tho, i have had em for 2 years and not 1 flat and they still got good tread on em. but i think the hole shot fronts suck ... they dont last for shit and they suck on steering, the razr mx is a lot longer lasting better steering front at least from my experience.
