WBates
I just bought an '02 Banshee (completly stock) and after two times out it started pouring oil, that looks like the case fluid, from a small tube above the right exhaust pipe. What is causing this? Are thi rings shot and pressurizing the crank case? Or is it something else? Is it something I should attemp to repair on my own..or just take it to the shop and put out the $$$?
ATB
there are two breather lines on the crankcase. one on the rear and one on the front. one might be plugged causing it to push the oil out the other. maybe you overfilled the oil? try blowing back down the line thats leaking and see if it clears out or not maybe
banshdog
Trace that line back and see where it is coming from. Does your bike have the coolant overflow bottle removed? I recall someone on here with a problem where some coolant lines were crossed with the case breathers. Dont take it in, im sure that with HQ members help, the porblem will be traced. sheefreak
Did you replace the tranny fluid when you got it? After tranny oil breaks down it gets hot real easy. What may be happening is it is actually boiling in your tranny and the pressure has to go somewhere. Have seen this happen a lot. This is not doing your tranny any favors either. Also as mentioned above, make sure both tubes and vents are clear of debri.
mondtster
Check the tranny oil level. I've seen them puke oil all over from being overfull. If you just bought it I would also suggest just replacing the tranny oil and making sure the level is correct. If you still have problems after that I would start investigating further at that point. jmoore
Just a thought. This happened to me once. My problem was I accidentally pinched on of the two hoses in my carb boot when I was putting the carbs back on. Follow the lines back and check to see if they might be plugged or pinched. Just a thought.
