I'm 6'5" 200lbs, if I was you I would get a real bike, you need a big thumper. I have an old 84 TT600 and so far it has been the only bike that didnt feel like a toy, most of the newer bike are very light and dainty they just feel very small, evan the 450's feel tiny and squirly. JMO

I had a 97 RM 250, it was a good bike for sure. If you have little experince on a big bike you will not be comfortable at all on it for a week or two, it feels so big. I didnt like mine at first, then i got used to it and loved it. I later got rid of it and bought a 01 KX 125, thats a fun bike. For me, the 125 is alot funner, has a more banshee like powerband, and feels so much lighter. The 250 had so much bottom and mid, but the top end over rev wasnt great, and thats the fun place to ride! On my 125, i can rev it out all day and its a blast. Right now im eventually gonna sell it and get a 02-03 CR 250 or YZ 250 and i will mod it to have more top end over rev, the 125 is getting alittle small for me. Im 6' and 210 Lbs and it pulls me great in dirt( NOT IN SAND!!), and is alot of fun to jump, but im feeling a little cramped even with the high bend pro tapers and SDG tall seat. My RM had 210 PSI and was a BITCH to kick, it was actually 240 but i had the head redomed to lower it a bit. regular 250's arnt hard to kick though, i actually just rode one today!

Nice bike what kind of gas mileage do u get? My CRF230 is just about the right height for me i like bein able to semi rest my feet on the ground. Do u fellow moto riders have probs ridin in the sand once i hit sum sand on my CR it gets kinda squirrely expecially in the really soft stuff might just be that my back tire is extremely bald :shrugani:

my RM had horrible mileage, probally about 4-5 hours on a tank, 2.5 gallons. My KX did pretty shitty in the sand, WAY to many close calls. Not only was my rear tired worn, but my rear shock was blown so that made for a very unstable ride. The soft stuff was the worst, felt like i was in snow, which is very hard on a bike! 450's are pretty exoensive to buy, and even more expensive when they break down!

My roots leading to quads and all that comes from dirt bikes. I still ride them right now too. For you I would suggest get a 250 2 stroke whatever brand you like get a feel for that then when you do you should be able to tell what bike you would be comfortable with next

Thanks. Had polished frame and exhaust, traded it in on a trx450r (pipe, cam, filter, jets...) for $3450? And still can't quite beat the shee. The mileage isn't  quite as good as the quad but you can go all day long on a tank.
