05Special
ok heres the deal, my bike was rebuilt and he pistons were put in backwards, long story. The cylinders were damaged and are being sent out to be bored. But hey, why not port it at the same time right? I talked to robert byrnes from bd racing and he's doing an aggressive dune port and the boring for me with a matching set of pro lites. i am also putting on a trinity 2 into 1. A lot of you guys have told me to go against this, but i want the reliablity. How much of a power gain should i expect to see from these mods? should i just say f it and stay with the two carbs? check my sig, i run straight 110 and i am installing 17cc domes instead of 19's. I run straight 110 octane. Anybody guess on ballpark hp from my sig? all the info you guys can give is great, appreciate it.
05Special
I also am adding a new oring chain with 15 41 sprockets.
fastbanshee8
55hp, but with the port job, I'd change back to a 14 tooth counter shaft sprocket, or you will spin your tires off, and shift constantly.
broke
This is just my opinion, but a single carb is going to need to be huge to feed that kind of port job. What reliability issues are there with dual carbs, I'd like to learn. Mid 50's is going to be the limit with a single carb.

dajogejr
Since you said dune port, we're going to assume you plan on riding dunes and perhaps some hill climbs. Keep the stock carbs...hell...even bore them out to 28mm and you'll be better off. The only way I'd say twin carbs are more unreliable is if they are jetted incorrectly (different sizes than each other) or if they're not sync'd properly.... If they are set up ok, there are no reliability issues.... If you wanted to run tighter trails and MX, I'd say go for 2 into 1...but, since you're getting a port job designed to run higher RPMs...you'd be better off getting fed by twins. Plus...if you're going to dune, I'd try the 15 front and see how the motor pulls it...should be fine. If you feel like you're gettiing out of the hole shitty...(and the carb(s) are jetted and adjusted properly) go back to a 14. Should pull 15 no problems...though. 05Special
thanks guys, i did a few searches and i think i might just pick up a couple 28 or 30 mm. Will they be big enough? too big?
sheefreak
30 should be ok, wouldn't go any larger though.
fastbanshee8
you got it backwards. 15 tooth = taller gearing .....14 tooth = more spin 484869 His sig said he is running a 13 tooth.
05Special
i have a new chain and sprocket coming also 15/
bansheeryder_69
if your worried about reliability why are you getting an aggresive port? those carbs if anything will just make the banshee run better, get some 34's
racer
those carbs if anything will just make the banshee run better, get some 34's 485227 34's are too big for most stock cylindered bikes. he said 2-1 so he was probably going to get either a 33 or 35, so dual 34's is a bit much. the larger carbs flow more air and fuel and make more power, but with out the need ( ie the vacuum drawn from the engine) the intake charge wont have the needed velocity to make them run any better. id go with a single 35mm personally. many people on here have sun them for quite a while and done really well.
