bansheeryder21
I have a few questions about some carbs that I bought and am trying to install on my bike! I bought 30mm D-slide carbs off ebay from a seller named Carb Parts Wharehouse. They only cost $200. That's why I bought them. Well I went to install them yesterday and ran into problem after problem. Where do I start! First of all, has anyone ever used these carbs and let me know if you have the same problems as me! So I go to install these and the carbs dont fit the rubber boot that connects the air box. It was too big. I asked them when I bought them if they would fit and they said yes! So I spent all day trying to find the two single K&N's and no one had them. So Motoworld said to boil the boots and try to stretch them. So I did and they fit! Barely! Next I go to install the throttle cable and it's way too long! Way too much slack. So I had to route it all crazy to get rid of the slack. Then I go to hook up the fuel lines. Get this, the stock fuel lines are too short, and the male end on the carb that the line hooks up to is smaller than the one on the stock carb. So I don't know what to do there. I jimmy rigged a smaller line, but it might not stay on. Still gotta figure that one out! Last, I start it up and it runs good, but I can't get it to idle. I don't know what to adjust to get the idle up. they came with no instructions. So this evolution took two whole days! And I am still not satisfied! Did anyone who bought these same carbs have any of the same problems! Please let me know! Thanks for reading!!!
Blue Duece
i think it would run better with the stock carbs and bigger mains and pilots unless youve ported it, if youve got a stock motor with pipes, you cant burn all that extra fuel, now ya better get it ported, then you want 34's not 30's..not to piss on your parade but you might have just wasted 2 hundred bucks

Bigger carbs is one of the best bolt ons you can do for your bike. I've already ridden it, and it has made a huge difference. I can feel how much more power it has! Thanks for your opinion though! odaen
Yeah, I've had them. The throttle cable is a different part number, much the same trouble as you would have buying any Keihin carb. If you think the boot to the airbox was a bitch, try getting the pods for stock carbs around them Fuel line is stocked at any parts store. Anyway, don't get discouraged, they are good carbs for your motor. Whenever you put a new part on your bike, you gotta take some of this into account. Rarely does everything just work the first time

Carb parts has your pods also, atleast that is where I bought mine from.
reded
Perhaps small hose clamps could fix the fuel line problem?

I had to boil them to get them to stretch. what size fuel lines did you buy? And how did you get your bike to idle? Let me know!

For fuel line, I actually got mine from my builder, since he's got a bunch of different types and sizes in stock. Make damn sure when you put your new lines on, that you don't have them touching the exhaust. I ran CPI's, and I had to use a zip tie to keep the fuel line away. Leadfoot350
Could it be that when you took off your stock carbs you diconected the tors. Look on the left side of the quad just below the gas tank and you will see a little black box mounted to the frame. Remove it and see what happens. I will remove the whole system if that is the problem!

How do I remove everything?
