Which Hauler paddles for my banshee work best?

Taller tire + smaller rim will allow the tire to elongate more as you pick up speed, thereby giving you more speed on top and not sacrificing any on the bottom. Rip, for your mods there's no way you should run anything other than an 8 paddle-non extreme.

K so we figured out that the 8 paddle is fine. Now help me on the wheel size and tire. I like to drag and really want a tire to grab, but I also like to shoot the hills. So what would be my optimal size? I was running 20/10/10 9 paddle hauler before. Quick question, my girlfriends banshee has the same mods as mine and she runs regular 8 paddle haulers. Yet my bike is faster and shoots out of the hole better then hers. You don't think that has anything to do with the paddles?

The extra paddle will get you out of the hole quicker but you'll suffer at speed. If you were doing 100ft drags then the 9 paddle would prolly be quicker for ya. But for any actual length track you'll be faster on 8's.

With regard to size. A smaller wheel (not tire) will be lighter and will also let the tire elongate more, giving you better top speed w/out sacrificing the bottom end. On the other hand, a smaller wheel will allow more tire roll during turns so the handling won't be nearly as nice as a 10" wheel. Bigger diameter tires emphasize both of these attributes.

First # - Tire diameter. Bigger handles worse, but elongates more at speed. Most duners run a 20". Most draggers use a 22". You'll need to change your gearing if you change this number from what you ran before. Diameter has nothing to do w/ grip.

2nd # - Tire width. Wider tires float better and get more grip. But they also create more drag and are heavier.

3rd # - wheel diameter. I think I pretty much explained this one.

Well when I went to SMI to buy my tires the guys there talked me out of the 8's and said go with the 9's. So I did. Rode it yesterday. I took my girls 8's off her shee to make the comparison. Night and day difference. I couldnt tell loosing any top end speed and out of the hole was assome. Im glad I went with the 9 extremes. thanks guys

of couse its gonna be great out of the hole, but I guarantee your losing top end speed.....I dont think you would feel it.....you would probably need to use a radar gun......think of it like this, can you tell the difference between 60 and 65 mph in your car on the freeway? I know I wouldnt......Like I said before I'm not trying to put you down, just trying to help.....with your mods that is WAY over paddling your bike........but as long as your happy with it.... :shrugani:

Wallrat & Dtm, I'm new here but it's like this with everything. I'm into old cars & trucks. With old trucks, they will run faster with a dual plane intake because it makes more torque(tq is ET) but actually make less HP(HP is mph).

So what do people do after they ask for help? Go buy a single plane intake that operates between 3500-7500 rpm. There rig will actually be slower but will make more HP.

People always want the "bigger #" even if there actually taking a step in the wrong direction. I promise yuh man, when I get a shee I'm going to get 8 paddles. I rode one with 9 and you could tell it was over paddled. Ran well but didn't "R" up as fast since it was lugging it somewhat.

Thanks for all your guys pointers.
