Home Made Temp Gauge

Recommended Posts

I just got done putting togeter my own temp gauge. I got the gauge itself from autozone. It came in a pod of 3. I decided to get those three rather than a single gauge because this one was a 1/2" smaller in diameter than the smallest one i could find. Including brass t fitting, the hose clamps, and the hose I payed about $35 installed. I have a light i need to wire in but i havent done it yet, but here is a finished product...

they make gages that are filled with liquid.this keeps the vibration down and prolongs the gage life.

There is a hole in the back of it so I could mount a light into it. Can I pour water into it and have the gauge still work as good?

no, that's not how it works, you'll just ruin the guage. the liquid filled ones are more expensive but would probably be best in the long run.
