woodro77
does the case have oil where the crank is or in the tranny only?,
reded
The oil is contained inside the transmission. Tranny case and crank case are two separate cavities. The oil that lubes the crank comes from the oil that is mixed with the gas. Edited March 2, 2006 by reded
trex banshee
unless your right crank seal is bad then you will get your tranny oil in the crankcase.

Wallrat
Hey don't bash the guy for asking a reasonable question. Alot of folks that are new to 2 strokes don't even realize the fuel/oil mixture goes into the crankcase.

Sometimes the searh is difficult to weed through, can take hours, when you can just ask and have a reply in minutes, I dident relize they were seperate until I took one apart, it's hard to imagine that the little bit of oil you mix with your gas that gose through the combustion cycle lubes that whole crank assem. but it dose

That is why they smoke so much when you start them for the first time after they have been sitting for a while. There really isn't a lack of lubrication in one of these engines especially considering that we are talking about needle bearings. IMHO, I know there are a lot of people who don't understand how the 2 stroke principle works, but google is your friend and there is an animation somewhere on here that shows the 2 stroke principle. A little bit of searching goes a long way.
