Chemical Castration
I have been thinking about taking out my front brakes for some time, I noticed a while ago that I dont use really use them. I was just curious if other duners use their front brakes as much as I do.
Screamin_Demon
I use them quite alot. easier to make a sharp quick turn by hittin the front brake which shifts the weight to the front, then you can whip the back end around a lot quicker. Sometimes you can do a complete 180 and basically rotate around the front tires. Works real good with paddle masters... they tend to have some extra side bite and getting alot on the weight off of them makes for an easier power slide. Chemical Castration
Does anybody know how much the front brakes weigh?
txalky
I would guess about 2 pounds each side. I use the rear alot and feather the front on hard braking. Unless you ride where noone else is you will need your front brakes when some idiot comes across in front of you and your doing everything under the sun to stop. just my .
THX-1138
front brakes are like Guns, it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. I use mine all the time in the sand dunes.
MULLET~BOY
i use my fronts 75% of the time
WickedBanshee
i probably use my fronts about 90% of the time. i usually use both, if im stopping hard. otherwise if im just coming up to a stop, i coast in.
Cotton eyed Joe
With the Banshee being a bit nose heavy, I use my front brakes all the time to dig in and come to a screeching halt if needed. If I use the rears, I just slide all over if I'm hauling ass down the face of Sand Mountain. Also, if I shoot a hill and dont make it I don't want to hit my rear brakes. Thats a bad thing to do. bansheefreak
unless you just drag.... i would keep the front brakes becus if you go up a dune and mess up and not make it guess what you are in for a ride going back down then again must ppl just turn around if they get in trouble climbing
2banshees
75% of your stopping power is in your front brakes. its good to have in an emergency. i hardly use my rear brakes unless im racing.
