What size swingarm

I was just wondering what size swingarm that I should get for my 2000 banshee, my mods are listed in my sign. It has a -3.5 right now but I also want a longer swingarm so that I can sanddrag and also play in the sand and trail ride, also what size chain would I need with whatever swingarm I get. I don't really wont something to long so that it still will corner good but won't want to flip over every time I hit the gas. thanks Aaron

For sand and your mods i would go with a +4. as far as trail riding goes, you could probably get away with it, but you will be pretty long as well as wide with your front end. I have a +4 swinger with +2+1 A Arms up front, and I ride the desert and Dunes and it does really well. Light years better than stock. as far as your chain goes, buy a long chain see what you need. I think i bought a 120 link chain for my setup and removed 4 links if i remember correctly.

for what you say you would like to do +4 , i run a + 8 and its a bit long for trail riding. so i turnd that bike into ashpalt only . forget long weelies

go with the +4

i had to add about 10 links for the +8

i dont have a problem with the bike flipping at all witht he +8 and i have videos to prove i can get that bike a bit sideways with ease

I love my +2, with porting it's right to the point where the front end is weightless when in the power I can bring it up or drop it down by pulling up on the bars, or shifting my weight a litte forward... Have the front end like this relly helps through the chop and transitions.

Helps with draging too, but not as much as a +4 would. I'm mostly setup for dunes as I find drag racing boring after a short while...I might have to sell it though when I switch to cubs, I will probably go with a +4 with 4 mil cubs.

I would revalve your shock for ANY swingarm size change, having mine done for a +2 made a HUGE difference. I will re-valve again if I decide I need a +4.

Sounds to me like you would be perfect with a +2, my next one may be another quicksand.

Personally I like the +2 better than the +4. I've ridden both right after riding stock length and the +2 feels pretty close to normal but the +4 just feels like my ass end is way behind me. You still get pretty good handling w/ the +4 but its definately worse than stock or even the +2. Pretty much if you wanna dune with ur bike you wanna get the shortest swingarm possible for your power. I'd agree that the +2 sounds about right for your mods/riding style. I'm desperately in need of a +2 for my stroker as well.

how well would a +2 work over a +4 in trail riding or dune rideing, I would like to be able to launch it in second and ride up on the gas tank for it not to jack a wheelie.

Thats going to depend on gas tank size/weight, rider skill and riders weight, number of paddles, weight of front tires, weight of rear tires, gearing, Torque etc, although typicaly (at least if your setup right) a +4 will still give you an advantage in a drag launch, then again, a +6 witht he right paddles can give you yet a better launch, and a +12 better (if you have the HP and hookup)

It's not all about the launch though, Winning a race due to a better launch will also greatly depend on the length of the drags, number of paddle tires HP, gearing etc...

All around a +2 is great for about 70 HP, but if you plan to have 90 or 100 a +4 might be a better choice, and will DEFINATELY help in either case for launching in a drag race. (There is no perfect answer for your question)

Like I said I mostly dune so I'm setup for riding not dragging and I love my +2, it was too hard to ride with stock length with my mods +2 makes a noticable diference. If you want to drag race more than ride I would go with something longer.
