speed_killz Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 I am looking to buy the best drag motor possible, I want top of the line performance. I've herd that A&S is pretty good. Any one with info. please reply. , thanx Quote
hittintrees srh Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 packard racing is the raining king- k&t performance builds a bad ass motor I hear jeff at f.a.s.t. makes a rocket out of a shee your gunna have to do a little research to find someone who will do what your looking for Quote
brilei5 Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 Its gonna depend on what you are looking for also. DAVEMOORERACING.COM builds bad ass 350cc motors and specializes in alcohol set-ups. Also build chassis, swing arms and a-arms. Do you want to go big bore? Cheeta? CUB? Price range? : There are tons of options and builders out there. Quote
wesw Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 to each their own. i dont think there is one special builder that builds the super bad ass motor for racing. sure there are many that do very well, but racing is more setup. you can have 110 hp, but if your setup doesnt get the power to the ground your pissing up a rope. my advice is do some searching and research. call them up and remember that everyone one you talk to will say they are the best. it comes down to more of a personal thing. does this guy sound like a prick or does he seem pretty cool. asking on here seems to turn into a pissing match. you probably get pm saying go here or there. but you have to do some checking on your own. IMO HAVE fun and get some vids of you racing. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 That's a pretty subjective question what do they always say..."Builders are like assholes everybody has one" oh no it was "Opinions are like assholes everybody has one", same thing applies. You're gonna have to decide what exactly you're looking to get out of your engine and then the best you're gonna get is a list of builders that can do it and you can choose from there. Quote
KSbanshee Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 Yeah Jeff @ FAST RACING builds some bad shit!!!!!! Quote
Too Many Toys Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 It depends on what kind of racing your going to do. Asphalt or dirt or hill climbs? There are alot of good builders out there. Just check around and do alot of research...www.ktperformance.com Quote
knight_ripper Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 I think it was A&S that pulled home all the trophies at last years DUNEFEST. they had some fuckin fast machines. i got um on vid somewhere. Quote
rjvoight Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 REDLINE/clicky I've seen his machines run and he is great to work with. Plus he can build it any way you want mild to complete all out drag machine. RJV Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 whoever u go with you are gonna be waitin a long time. i know that dave moore is not even taking on anymore work until after the PS drag races in april. all the bigtime builders have their hands full and tryin to get an engine built in a few weeks is not gonna happen. if you start a project now and use a big well known builder be prepared for it to be at least 2 months if not even longer. speed_killz Posted February 17, 2006 Author Report Posted February 17, 2006 thanks for all the feedback, ill look into it some more. Quote

Fast guy Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 Jeff at F.A.S.T Racing is the man. My bike is there now, for the second time.( in 5 yrs) The first time I took my bike up there I just had him do a play port on my shee. I am from Pomona KS and ride mostly out at Parker, a country drag strip, and used to ride quite a bit over at osawatamie ks, I dont get beat very often. Alot of it is the rider though, not to brag but it is the truth. I've beat alot of stretched bikes and thats with a play port. NOW, Jeff is setting my bike up with the CUBS, I cant wait! I'll be going down to LS with the HQ crew, but once again JEFF IS THE MAN TO MAKE YOU F.A.S.T. Clary Quote

odaen Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 REDLINE/clicky True dat Read WesW's response. Hit the nail on the head. For some good info, check out the Dumont, California section on Planet Sand. Banshee Wars III was last weekend. KOTH Memorial Day at Fallon will be another huge turnout for some of the big guys. And, the Planet Sand drags that are sometime this spring. K&T A&S SSR are all consistently in the mix wherever they run. Quote
