Ls7colorado
i duno if I spelled it right??? Anyways, I just got my pipes on, I put in 27.5 pilots, 320 mains, and 4th clip on the needle. Only other mod I have is clamp on filters. It will idle high sometimes, and then low sometimes, an if I BAAAAAAAAAAAAARLY tap the throttle (not even enough to move the cable) it will either die or keep running if it was going to die. Its really really toutchy. I dont undetstand. On the other hand thsi thing SCREAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I fell like it will never stop revving!!! cant wait for some more mods! Any halp is apreciated, im leaning twards the TORS, witch will be eleminated soon.
s-540
probly your pilot circuit. adjust the air screw or put a bigger pilot jet in.
Ls7colorado
it seems more like a linkage problem or somthing? I guess it could be in the jetting though.... first time i even jetted a ATV carb but it wasnt like it was hard or anything. just seems odd.. bansheefreak
might be stupid but check the tube between the 2 carbs.. it will run like choke is on which is way it sounds... check it and tell me if it connected..
bansheefreak
also make sure you installed the slides the right way and didnt get them put in backwards... there is a lil giude to prevent this but if you stick wrong slide in worng carb it will go in backwards runs like the choke is on.. spit and sputter and wanna die when you hit the gas... 1000dollabill
check your pilots and make sure your carbs are synched
Ls7colorado
I did each carb individually and yes I did line the slides back up. But I will check the tube that runs inbetween them. How do I syncronize my carbs? Both Slides open at the same time, if thats what your talkin about? Thanks guys.
No Limit Powersports
Just get rid of the tors so you know its not that. Theres is a switch in the throttle that engages it if the throttle is barely cracked. Unplug the black box under the gastank unplug both throttle top plugs, cut the plug off the clutch perch or unplug from below, and cut the trottle switch and that will completely remove it. Hilarious
Could be the springs. You did say that you changed the position of your needles. Unscrew ur carb tops off again and make sure your springs arent in a bind. I've been there and done that. Anyhoo, sounds like your pleased with the shearers? Give me some insight on how you like em. Give some pros and cons. Edited February 7, 2006 by Hilarious
Ls7colorado
I took the throttle cover off (the plate ontop of the thumb peice) and I unscreewed the bolt holding the switch down and moved the switch away from the throttle. It will now Idle but still sticks high sometimes, I guess it could be those springs? If I give it a good tap of the throttle it will go right back down to normal Idle though so something is sticking..... Anyways I love the pipes! The only downside is they dont seem to fit very well, but I can live with that cuze I dont plan on removing them alot or nothin... They are a little sluggish down low but the topend MORE than makes up for it. I can pull 2nd gear were I used to have to be in 3rd. It deffinatly revs higher... 89Steeda
Those pipes will really respond to porting and more mods. I've never seen Shearer's on a stocker before.
Ls7colorado
yea I just dont know what porting to get, Im thinkin about the vitos superstock pistons, adjustable timing plate , mod the stock cage's and just do a clean up on the intake and exahust ports. Thats some stuff I can do without having to send my jugs off... Edited February 8, 2006 by Ls7colorado

Banchetta
Your cable could be snagging in the 2 into 1 piece in the cable...make sure the cable in a straight line...between the carbs and the junction....it also sounds to me that the slides are in backwards. Cutaway in the slides face the air box...pull the filter and double check.
Ls7colorado
well it is Idleing fine now that I unhooked the TORS, but it is still sticking, Ill have to check everything again......everytime I get off work its dark.... Now I am noticing that the right side is running a little richer!!!! There are no air leaks and all adjustments are the same!
