Recommended Posts

O.K. I trail ride about 95% of the time. So what would you do? I have never seen anyone Line-X a frame and was wondering how it looked and if it held good. I know it may be a little heavier and I know that I will have to keep it out of the holes and mounting brackets.............and do you think it would be O.K. to do the swing arm as well?......................thanx Chris

I just gotta say to WESW....god damn, at your sig.

Now back to the topic at hand. :P

I think your frame would look way better with the powdercoat.

My brother and I got one of those bed liner kits, I know its not the same as the line-x but the results look similar. We did his Rancher with that stuff. All the racks and whatnot and it looked ugly as hell to me.

On the other hand, it might be cool to do something new. :shrugani:

You might get some prices of both ways and that may help you decide which way to go too.

Light coat of LineX is pointless. Those products need to be applied thick to work. I have seen truck beds with the thin coat. Tons of chips and scrathes.

Most powdercoats are strong and look great. LineX/Rhino line is brutishly sprayed. I highly doubt the best sprayer could make an even, nice looking coat.

Alright thanx guys...........Going to check out the prices and if I go with the line-x it will probably just be a light coating.

As a former Burton company (Line-x) salesman I would strongly recomend powdercoating for your frame and swingarm. Color matching with Line-x would be very cool for a while. The cons include. Light uv fading over time, very hard to clean debris especially petroleum products, and Line-x will flake rather than peel if you Do happen to scrape the frame. My pickup is sprayed (And used hard), coffee table, stools in the garage. Even the coffee cup tree is coated in the kitchen. I would take the time to remove all unused brackets, brass braze all the weld's then powdercoat. If you decide on Line-x, E-mail me the pic's www.gixxerjohnny9@yahoo.com
