posting to this reply it caught my eye

The banshee that nutcase traded his ds to BansheeCJ3 is a pretty bad basket case.

his machine will reside in my shop for a bit.

The fact that mike is making is this person was very dishonest in this dealings.

most of what is wrong not all he knew was bad, just by what is wrong it could not be overlooked.

axle is shot axle carrier is bad bearings are not new as stated. $150.00

stator is shot, has no light output 0 volts. $70.00

frame was spray painted.new powder coat and stripped. $300.00

half the bolts are wrong type or are stripped. ?

wiring is a clustered mess ends all chopped off if not totally bad havent gotten that far. ?

engine case is damaged badly, section by chain commonly missing piece.most threads are stripped out.fix or repair?

crank bearing are sloppy. all bearings ordered $60.00

Trans i havent checked yet.

carbs are not the great. wait till the end to see.?

piston kit yes and no pistons are old but it is apart might as well.

reeds, has old stock ones in.

slight porting, clean the nasty casting up a bit, no reason here i want to.lol.....free

machine needs a complete bolt and nut kit from plastics to axles and spindles.

weilded frame for foot pegs cracked area and replaced stripped threaded pieces and placed stock thread type in. $25.00

I will be rebuilding this machine for him as a friend if he were to go to another shop it would go well over $1500.

I'm not here to diss anyone i just wanted the facts placed on the table, this machine is a basket case.

Most the parts are under priced as a dealer. He wants reliable parts not used take a chance maybe its good and work for

awhile parts. The prices are fair and accurate.

As far as the ds it had scratches and bumps but no damage that would hinder its function. Was rode on a daily basis.

All the parts and work are not going to be fancy, just enough to get it to be a reliable machine again.Except some of

the motor work im doing for free.

some things i didnt list but i think the point is made.

I'm sure this is the last time nutcase will trade with anyone and his trust is pretty much gone now.

I suggested he seek legal advice"as even in trades"to see where he stands but in the end will be up to him,He will have the the reciepts and pictures.

I know if i sold a machine out of my shop like this a someone fell for it, I would not be in businees for long and would asume i would gain a bad rep, and my business would fail. But i will leave that up to all of you to decide.

um.... Right. Still doesn't change the fact that nutcase had a fair chance and was givin time to check the bike out himself. Granted some things that were wrong would not be noticeable from the out side but thats part of the business. You buy a car and it throws a rod what do you do? Pound down the little old lady that sold it to you. No, you realize its USED and being that its a Banshee, probably abused and you check it out the best you can. When I bought my used bike I understood that I could take it out the first day and blow a piston to hell. But what I did was look and look untill I found a bike that was straight and not all hokey. When you check out a bike and test drive one you should be able to see red flags warning you of a "basket case". Have no simpathy for someone passing the blame... And as far as legal action... I personaly think that is pretty petty and this should be chalked up as a learning exp. I wonder if bansheecj3 could seek "legal advice" for slander here on the HQ... Sounds petty huh...

Just the way I see it.

pretty much

nut sounds like a dumb fuck. the 250R i bought about a yr ago was in the same shape(bald tire, sprocket shift and crank seals all blown out, junk piston, chain tightener busted, cracked frame and twisted, blown shock, no rear brakes, etc.), SO QUITE FUCKING CRY ABOUT IT! do what i did, fix whats wrong with it and sell the fucking thing. if i would have been smart, i would have never bought it, but i did, fixed it and now it runs like it was brand new off the showroom.

Hey guys.I've been reading this post and i can see it from both sides.Yes Nutcase should have looked the shee over thoroughly but theres tons of things that you could never know unless you pulled it apart.I myself know that I would be pretty ticked if I was in his shoes and I bet my life on it all you guys would also.So instead of telling him he got what he deserved, think about it if it was you.You wouldn't want people to critisize you when your down. And im sure everyone would have lashed out from the frustration.I've gone to the other posts and posts that he has done in the past and I don't know him from beans but seems that he's a nice guy from what other posters have said, what he's sold, bought, etc.he just got a bad apple so I think its best that this post ends. Its ran its course and i'm sure when he posted the feedback he never would have thought everyone would critisize him. Just my 2 cents. Later guys and ride safe

^^^^ this guys right. we've all done it at some time. but really you can only blame yourself in this situation. i bought my bike, first banshee, off a 17 year old. completely "rebuilt." yeah, ok. i overlooked a lot of things when i bought it. it was a basket case, probably not as bad as what you're dealing with. if it really is that fuct, you should probably cut your loses. part it out and build one the way you want. i've put some serious dough into mine, but it's worth it to me. i think i have one of the sharpest 87's around and runs like a raped ape.

at the very least, you will be a way better informed buyer the next time around. i feel for ya bro. hope it all works out.
