Speedie
I'm looking to building a new Banshee. I don't want a MX or Drag specific bike. My I idea was to take a dune bike and built it up more, but still be able to run cool and ride trails/woods. Here's what I had in mind a Cub with a 4 or 7mm stroker. With a 4 to 6 inch extended swing arm. Maybe Elkas up front with stock length swing arms(don't want to go wider, because it's going to be longer and It would be to big for trails than). I want something I can ride in the woods and drag race well on pavement. I want it to be a better drag racer than MX'er. Can you guys give me more ideas? Would a long rod help? Or do I need to have one anyway, because of the stroker crank?
jjfizzle51
i would hate to say this but it might be cheaper to just get a used 450 if you want all around if you want a duner that ripps ass get a shee for sure Edited January 28, 2006 by jjfizzle51
PUSH THE THROTTLE
Seems as though you'd be best off making a woods/MX machine with say 60-70 HP so that you can still drag. Get the -2 swinger +1 forward arms and you'll learn to keep the front down so that you can drag most other bikes. The only thing that would beat you is a faster Shee. I'm not seeing a +4 swinger on trails as being fun at all.

JK. My choices were to take a duner and built up the motor or take a mx'er and built it up. I'm getting the duner for sure and maybe an mx'er I thinking about using parts off the mx'er and building the duner up more. Then I could take the parts left over and build another bike and sell it off.
Cotton eyed Joe
I'm not seeing a +4 swinger on trails as being fun at all. 465356 So what you're saying is a +4 wouldn't be trail friendly?

helldriver
i run a +2 and run hills, sand, and wooded trails and have no problems but a +4 might be a handful
Shee-Male
Yep, you pretty much hit the whore in the hole on that one. 465361 Thats funny!, I'm totally using that one! Maybee a stok length swinger would do the trick, a -2 would make it a mad wheely machine. You can make a lot of power with just the 350cc, maybee run a long rod and some CPI inframes, but no matter what it will come down to porting! FIRST BANSHEE
So what would make more hp, a 68mm cub with a mild port or stock cylinders with a drag port? 465407 I don't think cubs come with a mild port, think there balls to the wall out of the box. Speedie
Why would anyone want to dedune a cub. That's like getting breast implants and going with an A-cup. So I know now that the cub will be the same as a stock cylinders with woods port. Right? But how would it do against a drag port? Haven't any of you cub guys race a drag ported stock cylinder or vice versa? Another question how would the club do with a 4mm stroker vs the drag ported stocker with a 7mm stroker. The type of woods riding I do I think I'd be okay with the 6 inch swinger already on the bike. We don't ride tight trails, mostly hills. I'm not going to be hitting trees or going around sharp corners. The group I ride with all ride Predators and Yfz's and when it come to all flat out speed thought the woods I'm usually the one in front and having to wait on them. I don't want to set this bike up for just woods. I ride long open fireroads, country roads(legal here in Indiana), extreme hills, large open fields and I'll drag race on pavement alot. So I know now that the cub will be the same as a stock cylinders with woods port. Right? cubs are nothing like stock cylinders. its gonna take a highly ported oem cylinder to keep up with a plain on cast only cub setup.. But how would it do against a drag port? Haven't any of you cub guys race a drag ported stock cylinder or vice versa? the cubs are killin most of the oem cylinder motors. oem stuff is old and outdated. the cubs are the thing to do now. oem shit takes a lot of porting and setup to do what cast only cubs are doing. Another question how would the club do with a 4mm stroker vs the drag ported stocker with a 7mm stroker. the 4mm cubs are gonna run awesome. theres a lot of guys here that have them. 7mm will make more power. depends on where u go. on a big ass sand hill the torque of the 7mm will prolly outshine the 4mm. on the track the 4mm are running as fast and faster than 7mm.. I'm not going to be hitting trees or going around sharp corners. The group I ride with all ride Predators and Yfz's and when it come to all flat out speed thought the woods I'm usually the one in front and having to wait on them. if u get cubs you are really going to be waiting on them...
