Aluminum inline engine coolers?

What's up? I'm kind of new here and this is my first Banshee. It's been a while since I've been in the ridding seen, so I'm trying to catch up on aftermarket parts that are out there.

I just came across these Billet inline engine coolers and I can't find them anywhere else but on e-bay and one other site. Does anybody on this forum own one? They say it makes more horse power, but I know that's bull. It might keep you from losing it by keeping the engine cooler, but do they really work?

Take me to this product

I'm kind of sceptical about them, even though I make them now and again.

I got one, the kind that is sold off of ebay, and its about 1.25 long, about .625 in diameter with these cute little fins cut into it. When I calculated the total surface area that would help "cool" the radiator fluid, it worked out to a whopping 9 square inches.

The inline coolers Ive made have around 40-50 sq inches of surface area......

But honestly, I don't think they are going to give you a 10 degree difference, and as far as horsepower is concerned, probably none is going to be "freed up" by it.

Couldn't agree more!!

You "might" cool it by a degree or two, but surely no substantial gain and definitely not horsepower! :D

I think there more of a gimmik, this is the radiators job, not only that, an engine has to make heat in order to make power and visa versa. Cooler is not always better! B)

inline coolers are a waste of money in my oppinion .tried one and did'nt notice enough difference in temperature to justify the money it cost and the time to install it.engine ice is the only way to go.it dropped the engine temprature 30 degrees+ at the drags.
