Switching to T-5's From PT High Rev's?

I currently have Paul Turner High Rev pipes on my Shee. It also has Patriot Racing Ported cylinders (MX Port, Tats4life's old cylinders?), Noss head with 18cc domes, stock carbs, TORS removed, Timing advanced 4 degrees, Lightened flywheel, etc.

The bike runs hard as it is now, but feels like it may be missing something on the top end. I was considering swapping my PT's for some Toomey's. I ride mostly sand, so low end type power is not really a necessity. I'm leaning towards the T-5's pretty heavy, but still checking my options out.

I dout your gonna see any improvment in the T5's over the PT's, if your lookin for top end go with some CPI in frames!

I would think that with any pt pipe you really dont feel the powerband "hit" so to speak because they smooth it out, so it kidn of seems like theirs no power on top, thats just what i'm thinking. but, I would say you would gain top end power switching to t5's, they do have more over-rev. I emailed dan @ patriot about the mx port with t5's a while back and he replied the t5's respond with the port and will work well for agressive/open type riding, so i'd say go for it.

You WILL pick up bike lengths going from PT high revs to T5s and even more with CPIs! :P I really think you will pick up power everywhere but it prolly will have a harder hit too.

I personally would go to larger carbs first, your already maxing out the stock carbs...

I went through just what your talking about on my mx ported patriot 4mill set up.Started with t3's then pt mids,pt revs+t5's.I was most satisfied with the t5's.In the transition from the revs to the t5's all it sacrificed was the smoothness in power delivery+the toomeys have noticeably more over rev.

I had a set of CPI's in the garage that are supposed to go on a buddy's bike. I bolted them up today and holy sh$t! It pulls like a freight train now. The powerband is noticably higher up in the RPM range, but when it comes on, it's all there for sure. I think he is gonna take my Hi-Rev's since he is going for less of a drag bike. Can't beat a deal like that. Now I think I'll do a plug chop and check out the main's.
