I dont know if any of you guys have read the book I am thinking of. I cant remember the name but it basically says there are certain things you need to eat and certain ways to work out based on your body type. So what may work for some people may not work for others. So you gotta realize that the routines we give you need to be changed up to fit your needs and make it easier to obtain your personal goal. Thats another thing. its best to set a long term goal and then set smaller goals along the way. When you get to one of your short term goals youll feel great and it will motivate you to keep going towards your long term goal. You dont have to set goals but I do and it seems to help.

Really man, you just need to set your goals, be motivated and do lifts, and exercises you like todo.

I started out at 130 lbs, and now weight 165 lbs at around 10-15% body fat. I feel great. My goal is 180 lbs. After about 9 months of lifting, I'm leveling off, (cant get over 165 lbs). So I've started a supplement plan, and started trying to keep my protein intake at close to 200 grams per day. (not easy btw) If your not a highly motavated person, find someone to work out with you. Having a partner is also one of the best things you can do. Make eachother go, and be competitive with eachother as well.

good luck man, any exercise is better then none.

creatine, whey based weight gainers, protein, tons of water :) works well for me, putting on lbs.

.

Heres a link to a nutrition guide for fast food lol, I actually use it alot. Since I'm working full time I don't have time to run home and eat, so I eat fast foods based on their nutritional facts, like protein and carbs.

Arby's chicken cordon blues are one of my favorites for 34 grams of protein lol.

I am also a firm believer in supplements, heres a link for who I buy from, they have the lowest prices and a very good customer service.

if you are just starting to get into the weights worry more about getting into the gym and eatting good food. if you continue going to the gym after a few months look into the supplements. i wouldnt spend my money on supplements until you know you are going to continue to train.

General rule is to intake at least one gram of protein per Lb of body weight when you are trying to grow.  More is better, but like 03LE said, it is not easy.  You figure chicken breast has approx. 25 grams of protien(reasonable average size) a piece.....

with that in mind your body can only process approx. 20 grams of protein every 2 hours. give or take on the person body.

I started working out over the summer.. used to be a scrawny kid... got tired of it.. i work out twice a day... at school and at the gym... i take 350 grams of protein a day, starting creatine this week.. im at the point where i cant get any bigger... I run 5 miles every morning.. 8.0 % body fat as of last week, and i weigh 165.. trying to get to 185 by the end of this semester.. I feel so much for energized now.. also, i havn't had a soda in 3 years... and junk food is cut off, except of thursdays.. my day i eat what i want..

well if your running that much, you aren't going to bulk up to 185 lbs. Sad but true fact is cardio kills growth. Some cardio is ok, but over doing it will lean you out, you will be ripped, meaning defined and chisled, but you won't be huge. Might have to cut back on some of the running to get bigger.

I used todo the same thing, I started at 130 lbs, got up to 150 was running about 2 miles every other day, lifting every day, couldn't put on anymore weight, cut the running to 2 miles once a week, now I'm up to 165 and still gaining. Should hit 180 lbs in the next couple month. (grabs another protein bar and a couple spoon fulls of peanut butter)
