reded
You probably wont get much more distance, no matter what barrel you use, and watch out for the higher velocity. It is a safety hazard to have a marker shoot over 280fps. Velocities higher than 280fps can break skin and shatter lenses, plus the balls are more prone to breaking in the barrel at higher velocities. Gargamel
I finally played with my Electra for the first time this weekend. It shot pretty consistent but I broke a few balls when trying to achieve the 30 bps. I definatly think it needs a new barrel but I can't decide if I want to buy a DYE or a J&J ceramic that some of you have been talking about. I want more straight shot distance and maybe a little more velocity. What would you suggest? 460493[/snapback] Go with the J&J ceramic in a 14" - anything longer won't give you any advantage but use more air to get the ball the same distance. And evil balls shoot awsome and straight with this barrel, the sizes match very close to perfect And like reded said 280-300 fps is the max any field "should" let you play at. The problem isn't that it will break skin (skin grows back) but it will break goggles (and eyes don't grow back) is the reason for the fps rules. Like riding atv's "saftey first" and if you don't got a fast enough feeder then you'll always break balls trying to get the max speed out of your marker, and paint is an issue there too. You need a harder ball like pro ball, evil or marballizer.
BansheeBillyBob
once ya get over 300fps ur accuracy starts to diminish, my shocker was able to shoot zap which breaks really easy at like 10-12 bps. but if u try and run that crap in a tippman or a cheaper gun all ur gonna have is a blender. paintball for life
also dont really expect to get that 30 bps out of your spider. the gun may be good for it but the board is probably capped at like 13 bps like most spiders. i used to be really into paintball. but then i could play much and sold my stuff to finance my mountain bike which then got stolen and the fuc@#$ insurance company wouldnt give me no money. i will soon be getting back into it though here is a list of guns i have owned that i can think of piranha bl sheridan p-68 back bottle phantom rf autococker angel ir3 c&c sniper 2 gen 2 freestyle vsc phantom carter buzzard zeus g2 bko defiant some other cocker pgp a different phantom and all the goodies that goes with them the worst thing is that after buying selling and trading all of these i have absolutely nothing to show for it. stupid fricken theives oh and ps. kind of ironic that my name on here is paintball for life and not too long after i joined i stopped playing. And the higher the velocity, the flatter trajectory you have. Plus the ball is less likely to bounce. Theres nothing worse than finally nailing somebody, and having it bounce. And I wouldn't worry about 30bps, you aren't going to be able to feed a spider that fast anyways. It will just turn into a blender. Hell, now most leagues are adopting that 15 bps auto limit anyways.
