ellison445
PM Nyuk, he will give you a great deal on some used pipes. You will be surprised, I got my toomeys used for a good price and they came in great condition.
PUSH THE THROTTLE
My T-5's came from NYUK.
Banshee17Racing
There's nothing wrong with buying used pipes. Just make sure they're in working shape. I've bought both my T5's and my Pro Circuits used. Both were in great shape. I think it's pretty stupid to buy a brand new set of pipes when you can find used pipes in immaculate shape for hundreds less.
2strokesmoke
what ever you buy it will be better than stock
Wallrat
As long as the pipes don't have any dents its fine. They'll have some carbon buildup inside which technically will affect performance a little but you'll get that after riding on a new set of pipes for awhile. 4everwantedbanshee
i was wondering can you clean the inside of the pipes. like with some solvent or grease remover maybe.
dajogejr
i was wondering can you clean the inside of the pipes. like with some solvent or grease remover maybe. 457309[/snapback] Tape off both ends of the pipe...fill it with gasoline and rocks, perferrably flinty ones...an shake till you can't no more. JUST KIDDING...I read that once in a while elsewhere and it still cracks me up... I bought my T5s off a fellow HQ'er...save a few hundred bucks. They were (are) a bit rusty...but, hey...I saved enough $$ on 'em to make it worth it. I'm having them JetHot coated real soon by a friend of a friend...save on the pipes if you have to, and you can always get them coated or cleaned up later if they're not "pretty"... The stock pipes are just plain awful, suck, shitty...I think that covers it.
Wallrat
A buddy of mine was convinced that he could clean out the carbon with some carb cleaner and a lighter. It was pretty entertaining as those things popped and shot flames out both sides, actually continued for several minutes. But the carbon stayed. Gargamel
That oven cleaner trick works pretty good. but go for used if your on a budget. New ones will be "used" as soon as you put them on and you'll loose dough when/if you want to try different pipes.
