Thinking about new front sprocket

I am going to get new jets for my banshee next week and was thinking about getting a new front sprocket too. Right now i have 13/41(which is stock i think) and i was thinking of going to a 14, and then MAYBE a 15 if i can pull it..do you guys think i can pull a 14, or even 15

Stock is 14/41, pick up both a 14 and a 15. As long as you get cheap ones you won't be out much, and that way you will have options. Once you decide on a certain gearing that works well with your mods, and the terrain you ride you can worry about getting better sprockets if you want.

Yeah,stock is 14.Are you sure a 14 is not what's on it already.A 15 will probably be the most it can handle.Depends on what tires you're using.If you ever use paddles then You might need to go to either the 13 or 14 to pull 6th gear very well.Especially if you use haulers.Just my 2 cents.

15 is going to be pushing it w/your mods, but like stated above front sprockets are cheap, give em both a shot!

I counted it yesterday and im pretty sure that its a 13 tooth, i will count again tomorrow to make sure...yea i mostly ride roads in my area, and in gravel pits, few hills, my tires are 20 inches tall, and are an old style blackwater that are pretty much almost bald..lol..and yea i was thinking of getting both to see how it goes ..thanks for the replies guys

i prolly wouldnt gowith any bigger than a 14 but primary drive sprockets are like 7 bucks for the fronts so you can get both and see what u like best..for trails and such i doubt you will want more than a 14..

Yea ill probably have the 14 on most of the time, and ill try the 15 to see how it goes and if i can pull it alright, ill use it when im on the roads, flat land....oh another thing, do you think going from a 13 to a 14, will i need tp get a new chain, or do you think the stok chain will have enough length to handle it?

I ran tight trails and run a 15 just fine. I use a 13 for sand aud all my shee had was pipes and reeds as far as engine mods. 13 you shift to much in woods IMO

 

and i had to have 2 chains, one for each

i agree... 15 just seems to make 1st and second too tall for tight shit and winding/twisty trails .primary drive make good products IMO.

So you think i should get a new chain for going from a 13 to a 14, or can i adjust enough to have the right slack

And im not going to be doing much trailing, mostly be on roads, in fields and in large gravel pits...and yes a 13 you have to shift too much just for cruising im always reaching for 7th

Before you put the money out for a new chain, I'd just put the 14 on it, and see if it's going to work. If it's a stock length chain, then it should work fine, considering that 14/41 is what sprockets it came out with in the first place. If you go to a 15, then you may have to look at getting a new chain. It all really depends on how much adjustment you have now.
